A breathing space for those of us who seek knowledge about who we are and why. Knowledge is really useless when not shared. Here is my tiny list to get things started:

Anais Nin, I've read every book. Her work taught me about candour and bravery and I am learning also how to know where and when it is needed most.
Jamake Highwater author of, "Myth and Sexuality" this book is a treasure. His work has taught me about sex, sexuality and life as documented throughout history, mythology and art.
Sogyal Rinpoche author of, "Glimpse After Glimpse" - best calendar I ever got.
Rudolf Nureyev taught me that grace and beauty when open and honest is stunning. And when open and honest one can attain grace and beauty.
Gore Vidal - impeccably politically incorrect. What's not to love?
Philip Glass - fluidity. His music is effortless, calms me when I forget the background can often be my shelter.

Last but not least my sisters and 1 girlfriend who taught me more than words can say. So I am humbled and privileged to know these women
.

Thread makeover consultant hired.

I need to add my favourite porn stars, porn movies with specifics on which scenes and why. Followed by my favourite sex acts, sex toys, kinks and why.

I promise to post soon - when I have time to give this some real thought. In the meantime, MsN, I have to say that I also adore Phillip Glass. :rose: Neon

Can't wait to read your list neon. :rose:
I first discovered PG while searching for David Bowie's "Low" and ended up buying the "Low" and "Heroes" symphonies. It was love at first listen.
The soundtrack to "The Hours" is one of his best scores I think and the movie is such a gorgeous tear jerker. SIGH! Michael Nyman is also a fave.

Catwoman - The power and danger inherent in sexuality and it effect on social stability. Through the aggressive reshaping of a "whore's" worth, she's an exploration of society's power structures and the extent those power structures rely on stripping identity from the individual.

Aeon Flux - Another wonderful exploration of social constructs, this time focusing on the vulnerability of morality, the nuances of the social nervous system, and the artificial nature of liner thinking.

hmmm this is hard

Jaqueline Carey's "Kusiel's Legacy" fictional book series that woke me up and really invited me into a world of sexual excess, pleasure pain and acceptance of what i can be and the power it can hold.

Luis Royo's art, powerful beautiful woman that allowed me to really appreciate and worship the beauty of the female form

My parents for raising me in a home which had an open understanding on gender and sex and didnt care or hold any bias.

I know there is more...

Thank you Never, you type well with your facile tongue.
I confess to my fuzzy logic as prior to your post, my focus on Catwoman and Aeon Flux was all about the hot women who portrayed them on film. When what you pointed out, is precisely what is sexy about them.

Thank you briar_rose, I have a friend who is an airbrush artist, he introduced me to Boris Vallejo's work. Perhaps you may recall the name? Yes it is tricky to think up of a list, I hope you return to add more when you can. Will have to check out the author and very cool parents. They should write a book!

Sorry MsN - only peaking in right now. Have wanted to respond since I saw this thread but want to really think this through, because the topic deserves a considered response. In any case, the topic deserves a bump.
