As a group they seem to think very highly of themselves, at least on the internet they act like they are the sh*t, but what have they given the world? I am not talking about isolated individuals but as a group and a culture.

I don't see bupkis that they have done that is cool, talented, ground breaking or anything else in a cultural sense. Their music is complete rubbish, or if that's too subjective, certainly not groundbreaking compared to past generations.

Most of their cultural trends are just tweeks of stuff left over from the 90s (tattoos, shaved public hair, clothes, etc). The beards are just ugly and unsanitary. What is "hip" about a hipster anyway. Hip is a word that was groovy in like the 50s or something. We would have laughed at anyone calling themselves "hip" in the 80s. Or beat them up. Or both.

It is a case of the self-esteem generation all growed up I think. You don't have to actually do anything special to think you are.

For all the negative things one could say about the Baby Boomers, at least they had some damn good music and created ground breaking cultural trends, and I say that as a former Boomer hating Gen X'er. I'd even give them credit over us in terms of being culturally ground breaking, though not bathing or washing their hair was a little skeevy. Fortunately most grew past that phase by the Reagan years.

Not talking about Generation Z. Don't know much about them yet, but they don't seem to be much of an improvement so far. Killing themselves because someone called them a name on the internet? Sorry, being called a name isn't "bullying." Bullying is getting beaten black and blue by a kid twice your size, beaten to a pulp and shoved into a corner and spit on by the class, forced to eat gum off the sidewalk. Stuff like that. These kids have no idea what bullying is. That's not the subject of this thread though.

You have it backwards. Millennials grew up with Bill Clinton screwing around in the Oval Office, the hanging chads in Florida, 9/11, W lying us into the Iraq War, the Catholic priest scandals, steroids in baseball, Katrina, the housing bubble bursting the idea of the American Dream, Big Banks and Wall St getting bailed out, police shooting unarmed black people, and being told education was key and then drowning in massive debt.

These are just some of the institutions that have failed or were badly tarnished while millennials were growing up. It isn't that millennials know everything. It's that they don't have faith the 'system' is stable, don't have trust that the institutions have people's best interest in mind, or that the good ole white big club running things have any clue what they are doing.

You mean the good ole Jewish big club right? People say white when they mean Jewish because its more socially acceptable to attack whites. We know you are actually an anti-Semite. I'm surprised you didn't say international financiers and global banking elite too.

That's because you have your head too far up your ass....

Meh, not many Jewish people in Iowa. Some of the ole boy club might be Jewish. Probably shouldn't have even said white. Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa and Bill Cosby aren't white. Evey county sheriffs, Joe Paterno, Dick Cheney, Bill Clinton aren't Jewish.

A quick list of things millennials have accomplished
1. Facebook
2. Gay marriage becoming legal
3. The entire doer/DIY culture from locally grown foods to craft beers
4. More acceptance of marijuana and non-violent drug offenders.

A millennial is someone that went to high school in the 2000's.

Millenials are technically anybody who came of age during the information age. PRetty much everybody after 1980 is a millenial. Gen Xs is basically 60's-80's a and technically Baby Boomers are just after WWII but there isn't a named group between them and X.

So Facebook and undoing Nixon/Reagan stupidity the baby boomers are bitterly clinging to. :D

They pay too much for bad educations.

It's not like you can go to your university and say, "sorry I didn't like that class. I'm only paying half the tuition for it." The good ole boy club Board of Regents and University Presidents decide how much.

These are people in their 20's and 30's. I don't think they are clinging to any accomplishments. Most are trying to pay off their student loans, find a good paying job, etc.

Haha, I reread your post. Exactly what the baby boomers are clinging to.

when you remove the individuals who accomplish things from the group then you remove the accomplishments, you fucking idiot.

Gen Y - The Echo boom has actually has a few Notable Occurrences . Seeing as it is the leading age of "The Rise of the Informational Age" "Internet advancement" and sadly "Rising oil/gas and food prices" then in the Gen Y American department we have "War on Terror" and "The Iraq War"

Yes some of these accomplishments are not as star studded as our older Gen X, who their notable occurrences were "Experienced Vietnam War and Cold War" for the Baby Busters era. and as for the MTV Generation of gen X they had "Rise of Mass Media" and "End of the Cold War"

Now that is not to say that is all that either gen has done, but these are the most notable via several sources on the internet ( thanks Gen Y) But you make up your mind.

Sarah Palin beat us? We should ISIS ourselves.

Srsly....

They are going to crush it too they aren't setting up 13 regulatory agencies and 2 boards of overloards in order to get a licence you can't integrate/stack + an insane taxation that will just drop the whole industry right back into the black markets lap.

Alaska is 5000 bucks a licence, stack em' however you want, grow/sell all you want just not within a few hundred feet of a school or areas that ban it. All controlled by 1 agency with no mysterious board of " you're not cool enough to get a licence, fuck you".

Which is what CA is getting.....I dunno who the fuck is buying the industry from Sacramento, but CA is hell bent on making sure they destroy their number 1 cash crop industry for everyone but the rich. Typical California....

At least we aren't as far left as WA...they flat out banned personal growing or sharing (even with your spouse) for any reason.

Well NOW you have a plan though. Let's find out the details of the Alaska plan and petition the shit out of that. It's not like i mind saying that Alaska did something better than us. I mind not fixing it.
