And to "I wish I was her" thread. I honestly hope they haven't been deleted. What a shame if the mods have done so. Bring it back on popular demand. Please...

Lets all petition...

I would imagine they deleted both, due to people violating forum rules about posting pics.

Damn shame, the "Wish I Was Her" thread was epic, one of my favorites.

What is the use of a petition? Etoile gave plenty of chances for people to follow the rules. She was ignored. I linked to the rules. I was ignored. Those threads broke the rules.

Wasn't it possible to delete only the violating pics and let the thread remain. Also should there be a warning that on such and such day at ---- hrs, the thread will be deleted. This seems so unfair. Come on in real life too, vandalism occurs, and violators are punished but you dont bring the entire wall down...

Awwww sigh....

Well in defense of Etoile...she did give a warning...on the third to the last page, I think. She linked to the new guidelines and said FLAT OUT that if the photos did not conform to the rules that on THIS DATE (I can't remember WHICH date) the offending threads would be removed.

I was pissed about it, myself. Which is WHY I tried to link to the guidelines and WHY I spent three or four different posts asking people to please follow the rules. I was ignored, as was Etoile and the thread starter.

It sucks, but there it is. Etoile is not our baby sitter and this site belongs to Laurel and Maniu. They are nice enough to allow us to use it for free. So if they have guidelines, rules for photo posting...we should follow them...

if we don't, we lose the threads we love. Case closed.

if you're mad about it, tell the people who kept posting pics that violated the rules. it's their fault.

Nah, I ain't mad. I'm just disheartened and disappointed. While I hold no brief for those who violated the "so-called rules", I also hold little regard for the deletion of the thread. The internet community, in a lot many ways is like a real life community. Any community, purportedly based on free speech, free thoughts and free spirit will have some who abide by the rules fastidiously, some who sit on the fence willing to break rules if they can get away with it, and those who break rules blatantly, brazenly and almost pathologically. That is no less a gift of free society, because it creates chaos, and chaos breeds creativity and original thinking. Who would want a police state where everyone follows rule like robotic morons?

Then again, there is a letter of the law and there is a spirit of the law. Sure violators of rules need to be punished. But shouldn't the punishment be proportional to the crime. Remember a US citizen was arrested in Singapore for vandalism. The Singapore court decided to cane him 50 lashes for his vandalism, as per the stupid laws in that country. The entire world was up in arms. The US government intervened requesting S'pore government to go easy. Pressure mounted from all over the globe. That guy was still caned, but I think it was reduced to 5 lashes. It happened ages ago.

The point here is that if we want erotica to breach the prudish ceilings of our hypocritical society, spirit of teh law is more important than the letter of teh law. For instance, mods could have deleted the offending pics with a warning that 3 violations on a thread by the same person will result in his/her ban for a week or a month. Those with less than 50 posts will not be allowed to post pics. Or a thread with consistent violations can not be opened for a week or so. Rules in this case should be to discourage violations, not delete the thread for ever. If vandals spray a monument, you create safeguards, you dont bring the monument down, do you?

I have never posted a pic. And I am far too busy most of the time with real life. Not that it matters, but it is just my opinion. But I like chaos. I like certain rules to be breached. I like a bit of a rebellion in any free society. It satiates my soul. It invigorates my mind. It keeps me on teh edge. And it helps my creativity. :)

serpentwrap, that's all well and good. but here's the problem: it doesn't address the very real fact that ultimately this is laurel & manu's party. if they say the rules are x, they do get to make those rules & enforce them either directly or through the mods. they're the ones paying the bandwidth & hosting fees: not us.

etoile's posted a whole raft of posts in the thread over its lifetime reminding people not to violate the rules. so has chargergirl. and yet a handful insisted on ignoring them.

whether or not you agree with the logic of the rules, this isn't a democracy. any website is a dictatorship b/c the site owners & operators have the only say that matters.

me, it's still worth it.

I hate how a few can spoil it for the masses. I hope they kicked those people off or something too. I miss that thread......:(

Why is it ok to have these threads w/ much more extreme photos-
-facials and cumshots
-Cocksuckers
-Fingerfucking

...etc and that is ok, but not ok for the Lesbian pics?

I understand that the rules were clear, and we must follow them; just help me to understand.

Why are there different rules?
