the happier other side of the 'scary' thoughts thread.

acts of compassion and generosity that restore one's oft-tested faith in the goodness of humans.

It has been said that the good news seldom makes the news or history books.

greater potential for moist fuzzy goodness, here.

wanted to somehow use 'hand' and 'hilt' in the same phrase, but it didn't gel. Or, gripping the happy hilt.

There are many folks here in the AH that make charity a part of their lifestyle, but most don't trumpet that fact. :)

Run of the mill kindness. Holding a door for somebody whose hands are full, putting a dime in an expired parking meter, mowing you neighbor lady's yard - all of these are "goods" that rarely get acknowledged.

Yeahhhh:heart:

People seem to enjoy hearing the bad news more than the good even though they claim otherwise. Perhaps the stretch for wanting to be assured they don't have it as bad as some others do? The goodness is still there though--in abundance.

This morning a friend dropped off some vegetables for me and left me a few smokes because I'm out, and broke. It's guys like him who perform acts of kindness and charity whom we seldom hear about, but make up the majority of people worldwide. Sadly it's often the radical, violent majority who make the headlines and give a false impression that the world is getting worse daily.

Safe Bet mentioned putting money in expired parking meters for strangers (which I've done occasionally)... in the city where I used to live that was illegal and would get you fined. It's sad when kindness is punished sometimes... But don't give up hope.
