According to my login I've been off lit since January of 2016. This doesn't surprise me, 2016 was a hell of a year, and it hasn't really gotten much better. So if you ever wrote with me, or read my stuff and would like to say hello, my inbox is empty.

"Next year has to be better," my best friend said.
I then stated about 6 ways next year could be worse, ending with Trump starting World War 3.
At the end of 2017, she once again said "Next year has to be better," and we toasted that Trump had not started World War 3.
At the end of 2018, I admitted that there had been a few good days and I'd increased my charitable activities, gotten involved in the Relay for Life, finished a lot of unfinished projects for others, contributed to silent auctions. In the end I stated that 2016, which had been a craptastic year had been the last good year. Nothing like a chain of Cancer deaths taking out a chunk of the family tree to make Armageddon seem like a good idea.
"Trump still hasn't started World War 3," my friend offered with a laugh. We toasted and she added, "I feel like you are handling your grief extremely well. If I were in your shoes, I'd be a mess, crying all the time, only getting out of bed to deal with my kids."
I smiled and we were silent for a moment, she raised her glass again, "2019 HAS to be better."
