What games or toys did you play with when you were a kid?

I mainly read. Wasn't into dolls at all (sorry Johnny) but I had a Starsky & Hutch car I was very fond of. Got one now on my dressing table!

Oh I had fuzzy felts. And a dog on wheels which I shaved one summer.

Operation.

Which is funny because I can't get a good erector anymore, probably because of the Chemistry I've done and will need operations later in life to fix it all.

lol

Didn't have many toys per se, but that was okay because I mostly played outside, swinging around sticks like swords, fighting imaginary goblins and dragons and exploring the neighborhood (and also stupidly exploring places I wasn't supposed to be, like a junked caryard.)

I remember playing Charlie's Angels. I was always Jaclyn Smith.

When i wasn't playing softball, i was roaming the woods on horseback.

i had a curious george that i am reasonably ahamed to admit that i slept with for way too long. it was a comfort thing. i got used to it. i still sleep with my arm tucked and folded because of that damned thing. it's seriously a pain in the ass. nothing wakes you up like a limb going numb from lack of blood flow.

i also really liked checkers. well, i still like checkers but people stopped playing with me ages ago. i'm actually pretty good at it. also, phase 10. not when i was a kid, though. i'm just really fucking good at that game as well. don't play me. if i beat you i am merciless and cold.

Various board games, barbies (Of which I had a shit ton), Polly Pocket, Sky Dancer(!), Jump rope, we played a lot of tee ball in the back yard with my dad.

I also remember having one of those electronic egg things that had a virtual pet in it. I could never keep it alive.

And, like Fata, I did a lot of reading as a kid. I almost always had my head buried in a book after learning how to read.

Games:

Baseball
Football
Basketball
Annie Over
Red Rover

Toys:
Marx Army Sets
GI Joes
Army Man with our toy guns
Hot Wheels
Electric Train sets
Major Matt Mason

My brother and I used to set up all our various plastic figures (army men, cowboys & indians, etc) around his room and shoot them with rubber bands. We also wore base-paths in the back yard playing kickball and tennis-baseball with the neighbors.

My room was the only upstairs room, so I had it all to myself, and it was mostly books and records.

Too many to list: Mattel, Parker Brothers, Hasbro, Milton Bradley and a host of lesser-brands and knock-offs.

Probably the first board game was Candyland.

PS: I also had a Tonka(tm) dump truck from a very early age as well.

Guns. That was the name of the game and that was what we played with. One team would hide and the other would go out and hunt them and the two teams would shoot each other with cap pistols, etc.

Also, baseball, football and sometimes even basketball but not so much of that. It was too cold and dark and snowy during the winter.

I had a Baby Alive doll when I was itty bitty. It shit after you fed it. I am not kidding. That thing must have smelled so foul. My sister had one, too, and I ended up cutting off her doll's hair because I wanted to see what it would look like and I didn't want to fuck up mine. I was an awesome sister.

I had Lite Brite and Hungry Hungry Hippos. I had a smurf house with about 20 Smurfs.

We made a lot of homemade paper dolls and drew and cut out clothes for them. Wish I would have kept some of those. We were VERY fashionable in the early 80s with our San Francisco Riding Gear jeans. And feathered hair.

For imaginary games, we played a lot of Electro Woman and Dyna Girl and sometimes we would play Charlie's Angels or Bionic Woman. I never got to be bionic.

Cheyenne wants to know if you're her sister.
