What exactly is techno?

How it is made? Lol
Again, I must direct you to Daft Punk. They are one of the oldest continuing performers still at it. Look them up on Youtube.
It is actually an offspring off of 70’s disco being remixed in dance clubs around the world by Disc Jockeys. You know the guys who scratched records and not the ones who just played them on the radio. Over the decades it has evolved to include computerized sounds and instruments.
At this point, you don't even need a human to sing the hook line. Lol
Two things every tech song has: base drop & crescendo.
The topics can range from love to meditation to death and war. It's internationally more listen to then in the states.

I'm watching a show based in Ibiza. Seems to be a hotspot. :)

More precisely artist makes a best on a computer using a beat program. Then they use a synthesizer program to mix in sounds like bells, growls, chains moving..etc. Some of those sounds may be artificial or recordings. Some musical instruments may be used live but most of that took an exit post-80s. The same rules of the music applies as to the composition. A hook is normally developed at some point. No set time frame on when the words are written. The sounds and singing, (if there is any) are then mixed and lined up in editing till the artist likes what they hear.
Thank all the beeps and bloops the old computers use to make.

Buttons and keys and programs and computers...techno. :)

I went to a Beck show in 95? Anyway, The Roots and Aphex Twin opened. The Roots were fantastic way back then! And Aphex Twin beats hit so had and fast it was making people physically ill. It was in the basement of the Mid American center in Omaha. Terribly tight fit with no air conditioning in July. Beck was brilliant.

Fallon's Roots? They seem fun. :)

The same. Quest really wasn't a front man then, but you could tell how talented he was. The easy way he played that trap kit. He did a portion of the concert where he just beat boxed. It was the 1st time I'd ever seen that done in person. I was pretty close to the tiny, low stage and I was in awe. I've followed them over the years. Their success isn't really that shocking to me. You could tell from the first note that they were special. At least I could, or thought I did, or tell myself that now...

What's a beat box?

The one thing I hate about techno is when they put police sirens or dogs barking in the background. I'll be driving down the street and then need to look around like WTF! 🤣🤣🤣

Fuckin' love Ramstein too.

Imo it means people claiming to censor everything to prevent "hate" and "Nazism" have become the fucking Nazis and as an edgy band that's their "Fuck you!" to the man (pictured below).

The man....

To be fair they are far from the only artist making that point lately. Comedians, musicians, film/game/e-content creators of all sorts are pushing back against the PC/thought police.

But if I had to guess? They did it to get a rise.....get shit loads of views on the Nazi video!!!

Deutschland (the Nazi video)

TBH I tend to agree, but for the record, the 'man' in the photo is a 'nonemale' (aka female) admitedly it is hard to tell the difference with Germans, but...
There are rather a lot of Ramstein tracks set to WWii video footage - i doubt it was all done by people with a sense of humour though. There is a version of 'deutschland' filmed in Russia, with the WWii footage playing on the backscreen while Russians chant 'deutchsland ubber allles'' the irony was probaly lost on most of them.

GEC made a version of something similar but when Valves went up in price the solid state version became much cheaper. I think Ogg may have an original wind up model though.
