Female Dominant, Dominatrix, Domme
I thought as much, but in another thread someone mentioned FemDom and Domme as if they were two different things.

Just a typing spasm.

I prefer FemDom, myself, but I get sucked into using Domme too from hanging here so much. :)

Heh. That was fun.

Nothing like a butch ex bodybuilder type in pink lycra.

I hear Domina a lot these days, I kinda like that one.

If there's a Domina, can I be a Dominus?

Isn't that Domino?

I still like good old-fashioned "Mistress." But I guess that is more how you address a femdom to her face, rather than how you refer to her in third person. Kind of like "Sir."

"Domina" it's latin .In latin the masculine of Domina is Dominus . :rose:

yea, I've seen Domina around alot too... I think its people coming in from CollarMe, I've noticed they use Domina alot more then we do.

Its really a matter of preference. Some women prefer domina and others are content with domme. I haven't seen anyone use dominatrix - this seems to have fallen out of fashion except with television (especially the news).

I don't think its a good idea to refer to anyone as 'mistress' unless she tells you to. Many, if not most, femmedommes (how is that for a variant?) reserve that title only for their personal submissives.

I learned the term Domme here and rather like it. Straight forward, is what it is kind of term.

Domina's got a prettier ring though. Least I think so right now.

I like Dom myself, never really bought into the whole masculine/feminine thing, but if I gotta just for clarification I like Domme pronounced Dom, the whole Dommay/Domina thing throws me off, it softens the title to me. Though Alpha Femme is neat sounding too, but could be confused as the alphafemme subbie.

Domina sounds better written in floral writing, as if tring to sound more sophosticated. Like Madame and Madamoiselle.

Vixandra ... do you have any idea where I can get a copy of the movie that your av is from (it is from "the last unicorn" right?)? I've been looking for awhile and haven't found it.
