What does your gas bill look like these days??

I live in the boonies and have a propane tank. The delivery last week was over $800. Now that spring is coming that should last until about mid-May, but the delivery before that was only 6 weeks ago. Yeeesh, I'm ready for spring.

no gas. in my current house i've never had an electric bill over $200/mo and unless there's extreme weather it's closer to $100. considering the size of the house, that's notable. i built using conservation principles and i'll be damned if it doesn't work.

I have a wood stove. I never have to worry about the power out for a week because of storms or high dollar, rip off heating bills. I have enough oak stacked up to get me into next winter. It's bad enough having to buy gasoline.

Mine was $210 last month. It was cold as fuck last month. But it's a tiny house... bastards!

My Gas bill is about £30 a month -so about $60 ish. the bills evened out over the year so it doesn't go up and down all the time.

Gasoline is now at $2.79 a Imperial Gal. now after figuring out the Gal. to liter conversion and the currency conversion rates let me know what England is like on fuel prices.

mines running about.....$400/mn

and it's been a warm winter for us

makes ya wanna kill some one hu?

I'm on an equal billing plan, it's always at $147 a month and in the summer I tend to get a rebate because I don't use a lot during the winter [I like it cold!].

I don´t know about England, but I know the gas prices for cars are a lot more exepsnive here than in the USA. That´s most people ride bikes, take trains, and take buses.

For some reason gas prices for your house is a lot lower.

And how big are your people´s houses with the bill being over $300?

you can work the rest out yourself but last time my sister filled up (Sunday) the price was 86.9p a litre.

Maths is not a strong point of mine.

I'm getting screwed way worser than you..... :(

I think my gas bill is running around $45. This is the time of year we SAVE on utilities. We've had the windows open for at least 3 weeks and have been very conscious about keeping unnecessary lights off etc.

You guys will love this one...

We've been in this house since mid November. For both the month of December and January we averaged 17 killowatts of electricity a day -- with a bill about $150. That included having the heat on during the cold snaps, etc. February's temps averaged mid-high 60s. I was really looking forward to HOW LOW can our electric bill go? It came today.

They say we averaged 236 killowatts a day for a total of 6601 in the 28 day cycle for a total bill of $1,006 + some odd cents.

I called to tell them this HAS to be a mistake. The house is only 1100 sf. I honestly don't think if we ran everything we had 24/7 for 28 days we could come close to using that amount of electricity.

I got passed to another dept. They have scheduled someone to come look at the meter but if they find out that it's something in my house malfunctioning to cause this usage, then I have to pay a service charge for the visit. I asked what on earth could be malfunctioning to use THAT much electricity. Shaquetha couldn't answer me and had to stick to her script. Oh, and the WINDOW these folks have to come LOOK at the meter (where someone should be there when they get there) is forty-five (45) DAYS. I just laughed. Shaquetha couldn't give me any more specifics than 45 days. She also couldn't give me a job or order confirmation number or tracking number or anything else like that -- but she did remind me that 1) the $1006 dollars is due March 28th and 2) there will most likely be another bill before they can have the technician here in the 45-day window. I told her that I'm not paying the $1006 until it's resolved. It was hilarious.

We're now reading our meter hourly and keeping records. This should be SO much fun!

It was below zero most of last month with high winds.

My gas bill was $137.24 (have it right here)

My electric was 79.71

tell BB to unplug that big ass amp.

I asked about it. It's a 22-watt amp. Even if it was on 24 hours on every one of the 28 days, I don't think it would use 6600 killowatts. Do you?

(it was a joke)

I knew that.

...But you know everything, so I thought there was a good chance you'd be able to tell me the formula to convert the energy his amp uses to the dollars I'm charged on my electric bill.

With the nymphettes staying in the Man Space for 1/2 a week the past few weeks though, he hasn't much time at all to practice. So all this figuring is most likely moot anyway.
