What does anybody have against Antifa?

The original Antifa were German Commies fighting Nazis. Certainly not the most zealous American RW or libertarian should hesitate to march with the Commies if that were the choice on offer, which it ain't . . . not quite yet.

The main issue I have with "antifa" is the number of interpretations of fascism. If you are improperly defining it or generalizing about it, then you are against a wrong idea.

Additionally, I dislike some of the tactics deployed by self professed antifa.

Ours are just Commies that hate America who need to be confronted and defeated. They are domestic enemies.

Remember the 1/6 crowd? They and all others like them are the domestic enemies who need to be confronted and defeated. Antifa are not.

If Antifa was the security threat that the GOP nazis want everyone to believe, the FBI would have dusted off the COINTELPRO playbook.

I agree with being anti-fascist. I do have a big problem with their tactics. There is no excuse for violence, arson or vandalism.

Some of their tactics (or maybe most of their tactics)..
Not all professed antifa resort to such tactics

Just as not all Democrats want open borders
And not all Republicans support Trump
And not all Trumpies believe he won the election

Generalization is bad

True, we don't know but I think that the FBI has their hands full with the far more serious threat coming from right-wing extremists.

And we're already seeing RW accusations -- baseless, so far as anyone can tell so far -- that the FBI is doing the COINTELPRO thing to them. Including at the 1/6 Capitol riot.

Shut up with that nonsense. Antifa has destroyed cities, burned down buildings, looted tens of millions of dollars in private property, killed cops. Nothing like that happened in 1/6

Antifa didn't do any of that. Some opportunistic rioters may have done some of it, but nothing like what you're describing. No cities have been destroyed by BLM or Antifa protests.

Antifa is just a bogeyman for the far right goons. Perhaps it's a bit of projection?

Rightwing extremism is a far bigger threat to our nation.

The Terrorist Threat is From Across the Political Spectrum

"In the almost two decades since 9/11, there is only one case of a jihadist foreign terrorist organization directing a deadly attack inside the United States since 9/11, or of a deadly jihadist attacker receiving training or support from groups abroad."

snip

"Since 9/11, jihadists have killed 107 people inside the United States. This death toll is similar to that from far-right terrorism (consisting of anti-government, militia, white supremacist, and anti-abortion violence), which has killed 114 people. The United States has also seen attacks in recent years inspired by black separatist/nationalist ideology and ideological misogyny. Individuals motivated by these ideologies have killed twelve and seventeen people respectively and those with Far-Left views have killed one person. America's terrorism problem today is homegrown and is not the province of any one group or ideological perspective."

Righties hate Math.

Fuck off. That total bullshit.

Glad the FBI is finally taking these thugs more seriously.

Feds now say right-wing extremists responsible for majority of deadly terrorist attacks last year

"The U.S. government is acknowledging for the first time that right-wing extremists were responsible for the majority of fatal domestic terrorist attacks last year, according to an internal report circulated by the Department of Homeland Security last week and obtained by Yahoo News.

A review of last year’s domestic terrorist incidents by a DHS fusion center — which shares threat-related information between federal, state and local partners — found that although civil unrest and antigovernment violence were associated with “non-affiliated, right-wing and left-wing actors, right-wing [domestic violent extremists] were responsible for the majority of fatal attacks in the Homeland in 2020.”
