i've had an idea for something like this, a masquerade ball-type thing, actually. the idea is good, but i need a twist to add to this. i can handle elegant pretty well and enjoy the dramatic tension of elegance and hardcore sex, but this feels somehow incomplete as is. maybe a BDSM element?

In real life, I prefer to be friends first then lovers. so i know what you mean. I'm not looking for strangers to be in bed with. this story is more or less a man thing, but wanted to incororate a few female things. my gf's want to try swinging (as the husbands beg for it) - but they all worry about the day after and the guilt.

don't know about fiction, i'm not sure it could work all that well, loads of people screwing each other without being able to chat socially or strike up a friendship, sounds too much like one of our frat parties never any strings attached at those and we all know each other well

With masks being required there could be jealousy if both people in the couple know what their spouse is wearing. They would be looking to see where their spouse was and with whom.

The overal concept is good. The friends then lovers idea is of course good. Lovers being different from fuck buddy. But hey that's just me. To me Sex, love, violence and hate are all part of one big wheel and I often compare one to the next but I digress.

I think that the idea of a bunch of strangers under those conditions is kinda odd. I think you'd be better off putting it at a school, or job function so you don't "know" who it is but you know who's there. But that is just me personally.

yes, that is where the idea came from...we liked parts of the movie but the whole death thing....over the top and really killed the erotic moment hubby and I were having.

There was a story here awhile back where a couple opened a new nightclub and had an opening night party there with about 20 couples as I recall.After everbody got comfortable, the lights went out completely. In the total darkness, some very delicious and complex combinations began happening, but nobody could see each other to judge on appearances. Everything was entirely by touch.

I found the story great (I went back to it a couple of times ), but to me this sort of thing is strictly for fantasizing about of course.

I think the masked thing has been done a couple of times. Not really my cup of tea, but there are lots of people on lit who are all about sharing their spouses and so on and so forth, so I'm sure it would be a hit. But, because it has been done so many times, I think it is getting to the point now where you need to find something that will make it interesting, some kind of plot twist or shift that nobody sees coming.

Not sure what that would be, but hey...
