So, I'm currently writing my first sex story and now re-writing the first two chapters because a medieval/ish fantasy world doesn't do it for me.

I still do like a non-real setting, simply because it gives you more freedom and I want slavery as an institution -with both male and female slaves- included. My current idea is the following:

A secret society of the usual suspects develops new technology, maybe a new source of energy + new medicine; almost cyberpunkish.

Due to this new technology, they get a lot of power. In fact, they get SO much power that they end up controlling a part of the USA, roughly from New England to Florida, now called "New Albion."

"New Albion" is then controlled by a Council, who will make up my main characters. The rest of the USA then turn to shit and "New Albion" is the new world power ... maybe they are waging war and capturing slaves. Or: they allow immigrants if they are useful AND willing to become slaves. Like, the immigrant slaves then receive their revolutionary modern medicine that renders them almost immortal and gives them perfect bodies - but in return, they have to be slaves and maybe get a kind of control chip implanted. They are then sold to citizens of "New Albion"

Question is simply, what you think about such a setting.

Kinda reminds me of ancient Greece.

It's right up my alley. I can't seem to stop wanting to write settings like that even when I try.

For me to answer that, I need to know, where are you going with this? What's your theme? What story arc do you contemplate? The premise is just the start. This could be a very interesting premise and a very interesting setting but it depends on where you are going with it.

Is it going to be a story about how the immigrant slaves come to enjoy their circumstances?

Or is it going to be about how they rebel against New Albion?

What, essentially, is the key erotic driver of the story?

Yeah, that's a good question...

My first idea for the non-erotic plot was a conspiracy against New Albion. Not an open war, not an open Spartacus-style slave uprising (you need more power for that), but more like an anonymous terrorist organization who plants bombs, sends mail bombs, maybe abducts people and ... hackers, flyers, "If you hear this, you are the resistance, etc."

My two male central protagonists were supposed to be the head of state (now in this case maybe head of Council or part of the council or something), and the leader of the police force who has to investigate the terrorists.

As for the key erotic driver ... I don't really know yet, tbh. Male Protagonist 1 was supposed to have one babygirl slave, one wife (who is a switch), two painslut twins. Male protagonist 2, the police officer, was supposed to have a wife and then buy one of the slaves.

In the fantasy setting I had a female slaver who ended up buying a male slave. And Male Protagonist 1's babygirl received a male slave as a gift ... which ... would put him into a cuckold/ish role, I suppose.

But I don't really have a "key erotic driver", I think.
I guess in my case that's complicated because I'd like to have both maledom as well as femdom elements. But the maledom is more important for me.

Maybe the erotic drive should be male supremacy - and this one female role, well, she has some freedoms due to their wealth or whatever, but on a social hierarchy she is still beneath the men and still has to be careful around men, and has to watch out to not end up like a slave herself.

Certainly for the option where they are capturing slaves, BDSM might be the wrong category; to me, that seems more like a NonCon story

I agree, BDSM 'slaves-or more commonly subs-are willing'

So either non con is the better category, or if the OP wants BDSM dropped the kidnapping.

Maybe they volunteer? Its put out there as one of those guinea pig type things where people are paid to be part of a study? So they are there of their own free will, but have to do whatever is asked of them.

ETA-it really doesn't matter if anyone here likes it or don't, and I imagine you'll get some of each.

What matters is do you the author like it? If you do, go for it. Your story is your baby done your way.
