What do you require for long-term sexual contentment?

I'm not talking about your ideals, your dreams, but rather just the minimum it would take for you to not feel discontent.

To feel desired. To be wanted. For my desires to be taken account of, if not necessarily always fulfilled. For the other person to want me to be sexually happy, and for communication and compromise where necessary. For curiosity in trying new things, and trust in taking new steps.

Honestly, I am not sure how distinguishable it is from love. I know people will disagree, but for me a romantic love, one that begins sexually, needs to express itself sexually, however that is defined by both parties. You don't get to renege on that contract unilaterally without consequences.

You are back! Welcome!

I agree with the first part, not certain I totally understand the second.

I would say to be wanted, wanting them, understanding, laughter and equality.
Also patience, there are times when sex doesn't work or things happen that disrupt the sexual flow, things like illness, grief, and family concerns which can lessen sexual priorities for a time. Continuing to want each other despite being unable to have sex is important.
I don't know if I would have looked at this in the same way decades ago.

Nothing.

That shit is nothing but a pain in the ass and a hole in the pocket.

A fuckin' liability to social and economic prosperity.

For what? a few min of mediocre pleasure?

LOL Sex is a terrible idea, even if I was interested....internet is a helluva lot cheaper, porn is STD, baby and drama free. Plus it's GREEN!!!

Why anyone still fucks is beyond me......I mean seriously, what in the fuck are you people doing???

Dunno if you're asking to quantify how much you're "getting it." I think that's the wrong way to enjoy sex, by bean-counting everything.

IMO, there is no "minimum" or "maximum." You're either about that life or you're not. When you're truly about it, you'll naturally seek the levels for satisfaction, which switches up but never evaporates.

That goes for oneself and with other people (who hopefully vibe likewise.) A basic joy of healthy, beneficial sex is all you need.

Sounds like the thrill is gone.

Whose libido is slipping, dolf.... yours or his?

A lover who excites me mentally and physically.

Is that too simplistic?

Maybe you fuckers would be better off if you thought with your heads instead of your fruit baskets.

:(
Sorry.

Good communication, trust, laughter, knowing yourself well, but not taking yourself to seriously, a dash of adventure, and I think both partners have to enjoy both giving and receiving pleasure. I don't think it is always about sex, just his hand on my naked back is incredibly sexy to me.

Hi, Noor!

What I meant was that there is a common idea that sexual relationships can lose the sexual element and remain strong friendships and even love. Maybe, if it's genuinely a mutual decision to lose the sex. But that is so rare. Mostly, one partner is hurt and lost and feels unworthy.

^^^That's worth a discussion all alone by itself. "Dead Bedroom" syndrome: where a couple who love each other has one person completely (or near-completely) lose interest in sexual relations.

I need to feel some attraction, I need to feel like they are attracted to me. I need to feel respected as a human being. They have to want to fuck me at least twice a week, but daily would be better. They have to be a least slightly dominant, not even in a kinky way, just don't make me take charge all the time. Actually initiate at least a fourth of the time. If you have to say annoying things, at least fuck me til I can move afterwards.
