I faced the same thing when I moved to a new city. Filled the gap by doing some volunteer work with the same effect. It helped me make great friends that were giving and kind. Also, when bored, I try new things to explore or learn --- that's how I started writing stories for Lit.

I go work out. If anything I get a chance to check out the hot ladies there.

look at EVERYONE'S away message on my buddy lisst
find a laser pointer and tire out my roommate's kitten
re-check lit (a few times)

inevitably i end up baking something. when i'm stressed or bored, i end up with more cookies and/or brownies than i know what to do with.
