What do you do when you're too tired to fall asleep?

Drink.

Not a lot. Just an ounce or two of whiskey. It knocks the edge off and slows things down. Usually after a nice, warm shower.

Sometimes an orgasm will take off enough of the edge to allow my body to relax. It's nice when it works out that way.

Sleep with Me podcast - stories read by the most monotonous man in the world. That and masturbate.

I love waking up to masturbate and then falling back into blissful slumber. Especially on mornings I don't need to be at work.

ok apparently i need to add masturbation to my to do list

I love waking up to masturbate and then falling back into blissful slumber. Especially on mornings I don't need to be at work.

Even during the work days, if I can get one good liftoff in before leaving the crib...oh yeah. Makes the commute tolerance of headass riders in this city waaaaay better! :D

A bath, a book and a glass of vino.
Slow breathing. I imagine I am getting a massage. Start relaxing my finger, arms, neck, back etc.
Works for me

What do I do?

I log onto Lit, and answer to threads by alts, and give zee answer to zee more than obvious bait question.

Just like everyone else who did above; I suppose.

fffft.. I need a different forum. :(

Denny

Just lay there and cuss under my breath like every other night for years. Apparently I fall asleep and repeat often until morning.
So far I've woke up each new morning, kissed and hugged my wife, and that's all that matters.

My day is immediately 85% better when I start it with an orgasm. Even if everything is going to shit, it doesn't feel quite so catastrophic.

There are many reasons why a person cannot drop off to sleep when they need to.

Back in the eighties I had a real problem going to sleep. I was so wound up I didn't have a prayer!

Professional advise said I never learned how to relax and with all the stress I was under I was burning adrenaline like a smoker inhales cigarettes with a four pack a day habit.

I learned to attack the problem in several ways since drugs was not a good ideal at the time. (Zannex works good too.)

So how to slow the body down and ease up on the internal dialog running around in the cranium.

First exercise to exhaustion helps or as near as one can daily. Relaxation techniques and there are many help.

What I did was get as much physical exercise as possible during the day as I could...whatever it was. (ease off on the caffeine or stop) I would prepare for bad...a nice warm or colds shower depending on the time of year.

I would put on some soothing/relaxing music with some hypnotic messages buried in it to relax everything will work out (actually sound pretty decent anyway) ocean sounds and water falls, raining, even forest sounds... (great while doing housework!)

When I was finally ready to go to sleep a self hypnotic tape made for putting one in a trance to relax them so they can fall asleep worked good.

At one point I could count backwards from one hundred and never hit sixty before I was asleep and not even use the tape.

This day and time I have trained myself to read a page or two in a book and get so sleepy I nod off so I have to mark my page and turn off the light (ceiling fan light with a pull string.)

The book thingy works really well if I am watching Television.
Television cranks the brain up and it take it a long time to wing down even five minutes of reading causes the brain to shift to a lower gear.

I ended up taking a 45 minute shower and trying to read a book that i hate and cannot ever finish. Thanks for the ideas - need to find that podcast! 😴

Thanks! Ohmygosh - i just tried listening - it's hysterical! I could NEVER fall asleep. (Honestly - is it a joke that went over my head?) :D

Nope - I normally fast forward through the first ten minutes or so of advertising and just get to the story. Puts me right to sleep. But perhaps my brain is now just trained to associate his voice with sleep. Part of my problem with falling asleep though is I can't turn my brain off so listening to his monotone voice tell a story blocks out the running commentary in my head.

My ex-husband would always watch a show called Trailer Park Boys when we went to bed. The opening song would also put me right to sleep.
