you cant sleep ... and your girlfriend needs to get all the sleep she can because she has a VERY long day of work tommorow (so cant wake her up for sex) :( ... damn i cant wait till sunday when we can spend all day together


sorry this might count as an inane meaningless post ... but it does have a proper question

what do you do when you cant sleep ?
 
Not inane, not meaningless... according to She Who Rules The Lit Universe

1. masturbate.
2. come here.
3. read.
4. drink some cognac and think things over in the dark.
5. masturbate again.
6. give up and go out to breakfast.

Oh, and hot chocolate is good, too. Stick that in there wherever you think it ought to go.

actually, no. i sit up and do weird art porject in my room with my radio on, or read, or watch some good movie. or i'll get on the computer in my room and read old yaoi fanfics that i've read fifty times already, just so i can watch duo maxwell and heero yuy fuck each other silly one more time.
 
I pretty much do exactly what Cym does, except....

I'll do a Budwieser in the liquor department and play guitar for a while.
 
im slightly down though ... cause im going to miss lisa tommorow ... so i know this sounds terrible buttttttttttttttt im not in the mood to masturbate :)
 
Can you do something to exercise? Do you run? Lift weights? Go for a long, fast walk? That can help a lot, get some of those tensions melted away.

Exercise is good for the blues, too.
 
i like to sit out in the garden and lay on the top of our picnic bench and just look up at the stars


but right now i just feel like being mopey for alittle bit ... i'll perk up tommorow im sure especially when the day is passing by and its getting closer to my gf being home ... shes worked too much this past week ... im looking forward to her having a few days off

When I can't sleep, I read and drink milk. For some reason it works for me. Or else I get up and do homework.

I watch info-comercials, if that doesn't put me to sleep nothing will. Masturbation is good to.

I do one of three things.

1) Drink warm milk and honey
2) Read
3) Play with my Gameboy advanced.
 
This has been a real problem for me for about 2 months now. No matter how tired I am I lie in bed for hours - and if I wake up early I can't even get back to sleep. I'm just lying there thinking about things - lots going on these days. Thursday night it was really bad - finally fell asleep about 2am and woke up at 6 and couldn't get back to sleep. So yesterday I'm in really bad shape - I left work early and went to the gym and figured I'd get home early and try and take a late afternoon nap.

It was raining - when I got home it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to turn off my windshield wipers! My mind was gone... I lay down to nap and couldn't - just lay there for an hour and a 1/2.

Last night, talking to a friend online I could barely spell a single word. I think some of you know how precise I am about spelling...

I've tried taking Tylenol PM... sometimes it helps a bit... but often it just makes me more tired and still I can't sleep. Someone told me to try melatonin - anyone have experience with that?

On the plus side. Last night I finally did sleep - 11 hours, in fact. I feel much better today though kind of weak...

I would be careful with melatonin if I were you. I have had trouble sleeping as well. Have you tried meditation? I have several cds that are either piano music or environmental with music in the background. I lay on my bed on my back with my arms at my sides and my palms on the mattress. I then focus on my breathing and how each part of my body feels...this puts me to sleep everytime, it takes practice but is well worth it if you want to go "drug-free".
 
I used to meditate all the time... I haven't in quite a while... that is an EXCELLENT suggestion - because I do know that my problem with not getting to sleep is because my mind is so busy... meditation would calm the mind... thank you for reminding me... I will try that!
 
fresh air is very good for helping when cant sleep ... sit out in the garden for 10mins look at the stars you'll feel refreshed but hopefully sleepy still ... anyway it helps me :)

i think either of those two threads would do ... i can alternate between them :)
