What do you call this style?

I'm working on a story about a nerdy guy and a girl with hot pink hair like this, a cultural clash. I'm not sure what you call the girl, though. Is this "punk"? It's basically every woman on www.Suicidegirls.com I know; my age is showing for not being hip to these trends.

I would call it punk. Sadly in many cases the difference between "punk", 'goth' and 'alternative' would require more than just a headshot.

Punk isn't a bad desciptor though.

When I google "punk" I get a few pictures like this, but mostly of spiked mohawks, black leather studded with steel spikes. This is sort of "punk light." Tatts and piercings are optional to this "look" but usually accompany it.

I'd think the Suicide Girls would be identified as somewhere between punk and goth. I remember seeing them on Real Sex long ago and one girl was going for the "classic" Bettie Page pin up look and had NO tatts or piercings on her.

Either way, those girls are all very beautiful!

I asked my teenage daughter (I copied and pasted the pic so she wouldn't see where I found it, lol), and she said it's punk.

"Gunk" then? The more I look into it, the more I agree if it must be named, "punk" is closest. I just remember the late '70s punk, filled with rebellion, anger, aggression, and rage, which this is clearly not. I happen to love the look (today's, that is). Very sexy, adventurous, and cute.
