What do you call the male version of a "fag hag"?

From an e-mail from one of my best high-school friends -

Somehow, I became the "peer queer" to a bunch of lesbians in Phoenix. I'm the straightest queer they know. Welcome to my life. I can help set up your bachlorette party...

I'm still trying to find a good word for a male "fag hag," any ideas... I don't really like peer queer...

Any suggestions? I've never given the title much thought, but I don't want to let the poor boy down. ;)

I dunno, I like Toy Boy. But that's me. :D

Butt slut?

There's a guy on Myspace who calls himself "Sapphoslover" who keeps bugging me to join his lesbians-and-him group  but I doubt that's what we're talking about here!
My submission for consideration;
girlboy

When you find one, let me know and I'll put it in my sig line. :D

But my submission would be Sapho Slut. :cathappy:

Assuming you understand 'fag hag' the same way I do - sad ladies who trail around after men who always look the other way - then the male equivalent is a sad bloke who lusts after women who are exclusivley lesbian.

"Dyke tyke" gets my vote: what it loses in precision, it gains in rhyme.

*biting my tongue* I'm not gonna say it ... I'm not ... I'm not (and you can't make me).

:D (But I'm thinking it!)

I'll toss in a vote for Dyke tyke. It's got the urban feel of "fag hag" and yet gets across the feel of a lesbian's "boyfriend" as compared to a gay guy's "girlfriend."

I had to consult the Gay Slang Dictionary for this one:

Dyke Dog: Refers to a male, straight or otherwise, who enjoys the company of lesbian women to a straight woman using lesbianism as a feminist argument or a way of insulting men

Gee, why didn't I think of checking dictionaries? I like it. Not quite as much as Dyke Tyke, but I like it. :D

For a straight guy hanging around lesbian women... "hopeful". But as for a gay guy hanging around lesbians, I have no clue. "Honorary sister", perhaps?

For some reason, I always had lesbian friends I thought were sexy,

So how about "Frustrated Friend"? FF for short.

A gay men who hangs out with Lesbians isn't really the equivalent of a "Fag hag", at least how I understand it. It's closer to a "fruit fly", i.e. straight women who get plenty of sex/relationships from straight dudes but have a lot of gay male friends, for whatever reason. "Fruit Fly" generally has far more positive conotations than "Fag Hag".

Stereotypically, gay men enjoy straight women's company more than lesbians enjoy straight men. Sexism at work! ;)

*grin*

I really am looking for a male equivalent of "fag hag", as in a straight man who hangs out with lesbians, not a term for a gay man who does so.

Not sure how much more positive "fruit fly" is, all things considered, but it's certainly creative. ;)

Are there many?
It seems to me, the motives are different, to start.
The reason straight women like to hang with gay men, is- because they are non-predatory. Exactly the reason why so many lesbians stay away from straight men- because they don't want to be predatored at ;)

I do know plenty of butch lesbians who like to hang with straight guys, but that's because they get a kick out of the competetive atmosphere, and see themselves as one of the boys.

and, just to stir the pot, I knew an M-T-F transexual who presented as a butch dyke... She was competitive with other dykes, but shied away from men. And that was odd, because, before she'd gone into transition, he'd been a top martial arts champion in Chicago. Go figure, huh?
