Hey, just wondering what everyone is reading right now? I'm in the middle of The Seal Wife by Kathryn Harrison, which so far is unbelievably fantastic. I also have "The Time Traveler's Wife" waiting in the wings for me.

Anyone else?

Just finished, The Inner Circle, by T.C. Boyle. It's a fictionalized account of Alfred Kinsey and his research team. Deals with both their private lives and their work on human sexual behavior.

Rumple Foreskin

"The Forensic Casebook: The Science of Crime Scene Investigation" by: N.E. Genge

I am around 200 pages into "A fortress of Grey Ice" by JV Jones, it's the sequel to "A cavern of Black Ice" which i finished just before Christmas.

It's a cracker, she is an AMAZING writer.

Oh and it's fantasy, if anyone wondered :)

In the middle of Road To Dune, one of those fascinating books about the creative process.

The Earl

The Motive, by John Lescroat. Great murder mystery.

Just wrapped up Henry Miller's "Tropic of Cancer" and Ryu Murakami's "Almost Transparent Blue" and am now revisiting Mikhail Lermontov's "A Hero of Our Time," because I'm just not cynical enough on my own.

Blood Price by Tanya Huff. It's a vampire story set in modern day Toronto. So rare to see my hometown in fiction.

And Redrum The Innocent. It's about an infamous murder here in Ontario. How it tore a town and two families apart. And how the police and justice system railroaded an innocent man into prison for it. Mostly because he and his family were 'weird'.

As a bona fide weirdo, this book gives me the chills.

My favorite Authors:

Laurell K Hamilton - the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series and the Merry Gentry series (16 books for these two series)
Charlaine Harris - The quirky Sookie Stackhouse books (5 books for this series)
Kim Harrison - the witch books, I cannot remember the main female characters name right this moment... its Rachel something but I lent the books to someone (3 books for this series)
Mary Janice Davidson - the 'Undead' series, A 'Blonde' Vampire Queen and all that entails, hysterically funny (5 books in this series)
Sherrilyn Kenyon - Dark Hunter Series, which includes the Were Hunters, Dream Hunters, Dark Hunters.... yummmmmy (13 books for this series)
P. C. Cast - the Goddesses switch places with mortal women, beautiful writing (4 books in this series)
Carrie Vaughn - shapeshifter/werewolf writer, new author but really good (1 book so far)
Dawn Cook - the 'Truth' Series (5 books)

Amanda Quick
Jane Feather
Shannon Drake
Susan Sizemore
Trudi Canavan (just started a new series)
*the above five have tons of books between them and their series are too numerous to mention*

NOTE: all of the above mentioned authors can easily be put in Horror/Sci-Fi/Romance all at the same time with EACH of their books... they blend all three genre together to make remarkable work

It's been mostly airplane novels for me lately. I'm in the midst of State of Fear by Michael Crichton, and just finished In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner.

State of Fear is a good'un. :)

It's one of the dozen or so books in the basket on my dresser waiting to be read.

I go through them so damn quickly that I never have any around waiting to be read. :(

I'm gonna have to try to find one, though, that my mom recommended to me the other day: The Source, by James Michener.

I just recently discovered her. She is hilarious!

Undead and Unemployed
Undead and Unwed
Undead and Unappreciated

Sounds remarkably like my life.

Currently on my nightstand in various stages of being read:

The Queen's Fool by Philippa Gregory
The Codex by Douglas Preston
Aunt Dimity: Snowbound by Nancy Atherton

I read The Codex about 6 months ago. Page turner, yet somehow unsatisfying. I'd be interested to know what you think when you've read it.
