...I also collect oddly-titled books, just for the titles alone. "Monkeys as Pets", "A Guide to Better Yacht Maintainance", "Pediatric Standards and Practices: New for 1929", "Teach Yourself Welsh", etc. I tell people that I can generally lay my hands on a book for just about any subject they'd like from my shelves.

...

I used to have a book in my shop titled something like:

The economic prospects of SE Asian crossbed mammals.

It tried to list all the crossbred mammals in existence that were based on domestic and wild mammals native to SE Asia and then analysed whether any economic use could be made of them. The Tigon and Liger were considered useless. A cross between a water buffalo and a hereford was not good for hauling, nor meat... etc.

Eventually I sold it to someone who liked the title.

Interested in obituaries with photographs, women only, who's picture and story represents a past-time. the 1900s or earlier, the 10s, the 20s, the 30s, the 40s, and 50s are ok too, as long as all have a classic, old hollywood glamour but in every-day-woman form, kind of look. writers, ww1, ww2, actresses, singers, titanic survivors, teachers, wives, any woman.

here are some pics from my collection. If you have any info you think might help, please post here, or PM me with the subject line "about obits". Thank you so much.

sincerely,
erica

PS: please note that i all ready have the san francisco chronicle daily and keep track of obit in the Washington Post.

I used to collect stamps, now it's books. I like buying rare old books when i have the moolah

I think a more appropriate question for me would be what don't I collect.

I collect multitudes of cards. Started with Baseball cards, moved to Basketball cards, then from there to Magic the Gathering. Right now I collect the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh TCG's, as well as the Dragonball Z TCG, which I am looking to sell along with my Magic the Gathering cards (anyone interested?)

I collect all kinds of ticket stubs and flyers from places I go to.

I collect Video Games. I have so many there are some I've never played. Same thing with DVD's. Also collect the Strategy Guides of games I have.

Along with the ticket stubs and Flyers, I like to have a keychain from every place I go. It's one of my favorite collections. I also try to get a deck of cards from every city or area I visit.

My favorite collection would have to be my Transformers collection (as if you guys didn't see that one coming). I collect anything Transformers, like the toys, episodes, comics, books, stickers, everything! They are my obsession and my one and only love in life.

As a personal plea, I am looking for a graphic novel in particular. If anyone sees the Dreamwave Comics Graphic Novel called Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye Vol. 1 on sale anywhere, please let me know. I have been searching for this volume for a long time, and really REALLY want it. I'd appreciate any help. :D

Deja Vu....... ;)

I used to collect dead brain cells....or at least accumulate them....

I'm trying to break the habit...... :D

I collect little dolls from overseas countries.

When I went to Canada in 2003, I found a cute little Canadian Indian doll on sale in a store in Banff. I fell in love with it. By the time I left Canada four weeks later I had found 3 more that I liked, plus the one I picked up in Hawaii and brought home with me also. This started my holiday hobby of bringing home nationality dolls. So far I have nine - 7.5 inch dolls from Canada, Hawaii, New Zealand and England. We are returning to holiday in Canada and Alaska next year and I hope to find an Alaskan doll.

Brass ornaments, books, and cats (both breathing and ornamental). By the time I'm kid free I'm planning on being the local crazy cat lady with full bookcases everywhere.

That sounds like me, except for the brass ornaments. But I do collect Altoids tins. They're so cute and retro looking, and handy for keeping small ojects in.

LOL

I forgot to mention the collection of Tobacco Tins I have. probably 75 or more of them. All in good shape and filled with odds and ends of screws and small nails. (I got them from my father.)

I also have a nice collection of older woodworking and plumbing tools I got from my father. These are things like wood gripped Stillson Wrenches and Drawknives. He was going to toss them but he asked me if I was interested in them. (Yes I use them, but I also take care of them.)

My wife has recently decided she is going to start collecting Eggs. Not just any old eggs mind you but decorative eggs. (Ouch, there goes my wallet.)

I assume she is collecting eggs that are decorated already? I was into eggery back in the 80s. Some of those decorated eggs are really something.

I collect world coins.. nothing rare or expensive, just coins from all over the world.. My dad started me on the collection, he'd bring home coins whenever the Army sent him outside the country. I still have them all.
