What do I have to do to get my stories POSTED?

I was under the impression that this site was set up for the benefit of those amatuer authors; [such as myself]; as a place where we could post our erotic fantasies and stories. It's apparent that I was wrong in my assumption.

I have one submision which has been pending for THREE MONTHS! [first submited in MAY]. I thought it only was supposed to take 3-4 days for your stories to be posted on the board. I submited a edited version about a week ago and it is pending also.

I have three other submisions also languishing in 'Pending Land.'

On my one submision, waiting three months; It says not approved--reason: awaiting posting of part one. PART ONE WAS POSTED 7-05-02; over FIVE WEEKS AGO! Part two was posted 8-01-02; almost TWO WEEKS AGO. When I went to school PART THREE always followed part one and two. I guess basic first grade math is beyond the grasp of the webmaster here. I would like to be a contributing member to this forum but all I'm getting is F---ED! POST MY STORIES! Three days to THREE MONTHS is TOOOOO LONG! POST MY STORIES; NOW!!!!

Did you make sure that all the stories have been submitted? It's a problem with the scripts. If you preview the story you have to press submit all over again or it thinks you're still previewing it. It will still say "pending" I think, so you'll have to go through and open them up by clicking pending and click submit.

They may not be showing up on the list or whatever she's got.

And I do know that she's been outta town on business (she's got a real job, you know) for a bit, everything but the daily update is sorta on hold until she gets back to her broadband connection.

For me they say pending, I click on such, and click submit, and they still say pending.

Two of those saying pending were approved last night, two remain.

Hopefully they'll get done soon, as they are the second and third chapters in a multipart story.

If only I could have such luck, tenyari. Coaster12345 posted in an earlier thread that this board treats the 'newbies', new authors in a rather bad way. Instead of helping the new writer and listening to what they are trying to ask for; [or the point they are trying to make]; there are a select few who deem it an outrage that we newbies infringe upon there sacred territory. I mean, to think that perhaps someone as you or myself might actually want to post a story on their beloved site; is sacrilege to them. We are made to feel not welcome, when they SHOULD be extending a helpful hand; we get treated like dirt; or worse. I read threads time after time here where the new members are either ignored or basicaly put down in a rude manor. Not a friendly board at all. I, and apparently you as well, get the short shift; and the 'club members' blot out any else who would DARE to think of themselves as a erotic writer.============== All I want is to get my stories posted in a timely manner. Nothing else. Put my stories up so that people can read them. Everyday I get e-mail from one source or another asking when I'm going to write the ending to my story. All I can reply is that said ending was submited WEEKS ago! Newbies basicaly get treated like SHIT around here! I just want my stories posted which I have submited; period!

Well, I've certainly been put in my place, haven't I?

Apparently you aren't interested in genuine concern, someone who will actually listen to you with respect and do what she can, little enough as it is, to help you.

You wish to be treated with respect you must first treat others with respect. I have never done anything to you other than try to help you and make you feel like, just maybe, someone actually cares about your problem rather than a big fat zero instead of replies. Instead of the courtesy of common decency given back to me, I get a ration of asshole bullshit thrown in my face for my efforts, negligible though they were. I get called a "club member" and essentially an elitist snob who doesn't want new people around. I mistakenly thought that I could be of assistance, at the very least to let someone who is very frustrated know that someone around here cares.

It's a good thing that I'm not like you. I'll take the next person who makes such a request at face value and help them rather than throwing around wild accusations.

I don't know what's the hold up in your story because I'm not Laurel. I do know that Laurel had business to deal with and that necessarily precluded a lot of things here. I know that anything submitted via email is backed up--one of mine is. I know that anything with the word EDIT in the title is backed up because I have a very good friend and long time Literotica submitter who has been waiting for a long time. Weeks.

I don't know what your problem is beyond frustration. And right now, I don't care anymore. Last night I honestly cared about whether or not Laurel would post your story. Tonight? I could give a rat's ass. Your attitude and the contemptible and completely unjustifiable hatred that you've been slinging in my direction, since I'm one of these long-time "club members," puts you beneath the necessity of common courtesy. Just like any other troll.

I must disagree, Foxfan

I still am a "newbie", as I only joined Lit the end of June this year.

Every story and poem I've submitted since I joined has already posted (7 stories and 2 poems). I improperly formatted (not in txt file) the first story I sent in, so it was rejected. I resubmitted, after reading the directions more carefully, and after 5 days saw it on the site.

On the bulletin board, most thread posters have been exceptionally gracious to me. I agree that some are arrogant, spiteful, and resistant to the new folks. Many are funny and witty and insightful. After sitting back and observing for a time, I think I've figured out the flow of things.

I don't know why you're having so much difficulty getting your stories posted. It has not been my experience, or the experience of any the friends I have made since I've been here.

Attacking people who wish to help doesn't sound like a good idea at anytime. Sorry for your frustration -

Hi Foxfan69 and welcome,

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. Personally, Lit and the authors here have been very good to me.

Particularly as a 'newbie' I have found almost everyone is friendly and willing to help.

Each message or email I have send to another author has been replied to. I've been given advice, helpful links, and more by some very experienced writers, and I'm extremely grateful for it all. It's all really just been a matter of asking... nicely.

I wish you well with your future writing.

Have a good day,

Alex(fem)

I must agree with the last few posts. I am still fairly new to Lit and even newer to the boards. With that said, I have had nothing in the way of negativism directed towards me or any of my writings.

I personally don't send my stories to a vol ed, not out of conceit, but because I feel my stories are readable as is. Be that as it is, I did post my stories under a request for advice.

I only received one reply that said he thought my writing was fine. I'm sure in time others will take a stab at them as well. But I also understand two things. Anything they say is not a personal attack at me and it is only given because I asked.

I am sorry that you have not enjoyed your posting experiences so far, but would wish that you look at the situation from the webmaster's pov. As KM said, it is basically a part-time gig, with lots of others helping out for free too.

For me, it is an excellent outlet (keeps me off the streets). Do I dream of making a living writing erotica. Of course, but if you read any of my stories, you will learn I have avery vivid imagination.
