What do I do if Literotica doesn't respond plagiarism?

I contacted Literotica about how I was plagiarized big time. I haven't heard from them since I e-mailed them two weeks ago. I also contacted the plagiarizer named "MeFraud" and he, of course, didn't respond. He wrote a story called "Bible Mom" which can be found here: http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=473844

This guy blatantly took so much of my material that I wonder if he even wrote one word. My story, "I Can't Make It Without Mom's Ass", can be found here: http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=149039

Anyway, since his story is still up, I take it Lit. doesn't want to be bothered by this, or they're super busy to handle it at this point.

Any suggestions?

One suggestion is to make sure you have the right links. At a glance, these two stories are completely different.

I fail to see any similarities between the two.

Perhaps if you could take a few passages that you believe are similar? Honestly, the only connection I can see between the two is that they're mother/son incest centering on anal. Beyond that, they're radically different.

I agree with the other two posters... I'm having a problem seeing the 'plagiarism'. Can you post what you think are plagiarized passages, just to see what you think is being copied?

I should have been more precise about and thanks for pointing that out. The plagiarizing begins on page 2 of "Bible Mom" at this passage:

"Mom, remember how you said I could talk to you about anything that's bother my mind."

"Just say what's on your mind. Okay."

"Okay, mom" I gathered my courage. "I need to ask you this huge favor...I need...Mom, you've gotta understand that I don't think I'll be able to grow up a normal adult without your help."

Keep reading until the end and then go to page 3. He has added a few words here and there to try and make it his own but it's so obvious.

Now, go to page 1 of my story and begin reading from this paragraph:

"Mom, remember how you said I could talk to you about what's been bothering me for the past couple of months."

"It's okay honey, just say what's on your mind. Okay."

I need to ask you this huge favor...I need...Mom, you've gotta understand that I don't think I'll be able to grow up a normal adult without your help."

I can go on but you get the drift. He picks what he wants and adds it to his story, which I'm wondering if it belongs to some other writer who's none the wiser.

Okay, I see it now. There are numerous passages lifted directly from your story, and a few that are lifted and framed in bad grammar. It is simply beyond any ability to argue that it was similar thoughts on a similar subject.

I'm inclined to agree that the rest of the story may very well have been lifted from other author's stories in light of this and a closer read as well. The word choice and structure is just completely inconsistent throughout the story.

I'll be reporting this to Laurel via PM and referencing this thread. If you attempted to contact Literotica via email, that may be the problem. The email filter is extremely draconian, and may very well have eaten your email. Contacting via PM is much more reliable and fast.

I should imagine that the offending story will soon be gone.

Thank you for your help Darkniciad. I really appreciate it. I only discovered this theft by chance alone. I can only assume, based on what happened to me, that every story listed under his name may have been plagiarized to some extent.

Thanks again.

That's a fortunate catch on your part and I can imagine how it makes you feel. I hope it is resolved quickly.

No problem :D I went digging through some of the other stories, concentrating on the most recent ones, but didn't see anything else that I recognized. Several chunks looked out of place in a similar fashion to the hodgepodge of this one, though.

I suspect that avid readers of mom/son incest stories would be a much better resource to track down any other stolen passages, as the list seems to be dominated by only that type of storyline.

Who the hell plagiarizes on a free erotica website anyway?

A 20-page paper due the next morning for which you have nothing? Whether or not you agree with the ethics, at least it makes sense. A porn website where you're not making any money no matter what you turn in? ....

It's all about the "praise" one receives from the readers. The ego is a funny thing.

You would be suprised at how often it happens. I have had quite a few stories "stolen" over my time here. One thief admitted that she stole a story called "Suzzane by the Sea" to impress her best friend.

Whether it's a precious 20 page paper that will be read by no one save a grad student doing the grading and the writer or a bit of fluff written by a drooling writer here, it deserves the same protection.

Given a moniker as 'MeFraud', I think we can guess the approach.

What I don't see is why he would start with an interesting (if you go for incest) plot bunny on sexual tensions between religious and controlling single mother and her naturally hormonal son and disappear up. . . a blind alley.

AK, this is clearly plagiarism and as dark says (and has done) PM to the boss should get results.

Thanks for your support, elfin. I've had this happen to me at some obscure website a few years back and the admin couldn't care less. And, it was another phony writer who grammatically screwed up everything I wrote. I didn't understand why he bothered making any changes at all if he was going to plagiarize.

A-K, one area the site bosses really take care of are things like copyright, plagiarism, under-age sex and any breaches of site rules.

As dark says, PM Laurel with your problem but you can also click on 'report this story' at the bottom of the post and use 'other' to explain the issue.

You can always run your online material through www.copyscape.com or other similar utilities to find candidates for plagiarization.

Doesn't work too well. I checked it on several stories posted in multiple places, and a website that has a mirror, all of which show up in search engines, and it found squat *laugh*

It depends -- I use the pro version, as I work with a web content publisher.

Also -- getting a wordpress account and pubbing the "raw" file (say on a private server) with no obnxious ads and headers/meta-tags will give you clearer results.

Frankly speaking, it's just another utility. If it works, good. If not, look for another tool to assist you.

One of them I checked was a plain jane html version of a chapter that I put up for first-readers on my website. Nothing but bare bones, hand coded html around the text file, and it matches the final version up on two fairly well-traveled story sites. Just not getting any love from the free version of the tool.

I've actually had quite a bit of luck just googling unique sentences and character names. Turned up oodles of porn blogs padding out what is essentially a giant pay-site advert with my text and a few places that have snatched my stories.

...Usually only the first page or part of same with the copyright notice stating that if it's posted anywhere except Literotica.com, it's posted without my permission still attached

Erotica thieves, by and large, seem to be even lazier and more inept than the average post-it-as-your-own malcontents. The one in this thread is a fairly rare example.

Justice has been served! Laurel took down the story as well as "all" his other submissions.

Laurel, you rock! :)

Thanks again everyone.

She does rock, told'ya.

One reason for hanging round the site is the way things like plagiarism and copyright breach are pursued. Always use a PM to get noticed.

Pleased you got a result and post a mention here when you next post a story. Any publicity is good publicity.
