What did you think if Monster's Ball?

I liked it, but it was so depressing. I felt more for Heath Ledger's character than I did for Halle's, and I thought that Billy Bob's character was really creepy. I'm not a big Halle fan in the first place, but her caricature of an "accent" got on my nerves. But that's all superficial stuff.
Interesting and deep, but nothing to write home about.

Mos Def!!! woo hoo!!

We rented it.. Mom and Mr Freaky watched it. (I kinda watched it but was more interested in Lit.. )

Anyway

Mom said: It was one of the worst movies she's ever seen. (She's 62 and hates.. violence, nudity, sex and bad language). And if I remember correctly Monsters ball had it all.

Mr Freaky said: It was ok. He's seen worse and he's seen better.

I liked it. And I don't agree with all the anti-Halle Berry sentiment that has been floating around (particularly from Angela Bassett). She wasn't "whoring" herself for a white man, as many people like to put it.

It was a love story, albiet a depressing one. But it was logical and non-exploitative. I had to give it that much.

I think Angella Bassett said she didn't take the role because she felt it was demeaning. I don't think she meant Halle specifically. It seems as though her statement was taken somewhere it didn't go.

The quotes sounded pretty personal to me. If I were Ms. Berry I might have been offended.

Sorry, this is Never typing as lavender watches the move for the second time. She lavender said it was 'too heavy' she was talking about another movie.

lavender dictates:
"I thought the subject matter was tired. I didn't think they delt with it in any extrodenary way. I thought it was cliche to the extreme. I thought the sub-plots disingenously added to the main plot which was trmatic enough that it didn't need the icing.

The movie was far from subtle and BBT was playing the same [deleted] thread he's played ten times."

I think the both of ya's are being fucking puffers :D Just spill it out already!

Either you liked it or you didn't.

I - didn't like it. But I can respect the way it was written.

Life sucks sometimes.

I haven't seen it personally. I think lavender disliked it but doesn't like disliking something so many people seemed to enjoy.

That is a damn shame.

Fuck everyone else.

That is my new motto.

There are over 6 billion people in the world right now. I'm not saying it's impossible to fuck every, single last one of them. I'm just saying it's improbable.

I saw it and was hugely disappointed in it. I am still trying to figure out what was so special?

And why did Halle Berry win an Oscar for her performance? It wasn't a stunning performance, or role.

Didn't like, wasn't impressed and was glad I rented it instead of spending mega bucks to go to the movies and see it.
