I have a couple for my daughter. I bought her a Relic purse and a necklace. She doesn't wear much jewelry but I hope she likes it enough to wear it on special occasions, at least. The purse, again, I am hoping she likes it. She is VERY hard to buy for.

What do you have bought for your loved ones?

None of that until a week before, tops.
That way I don't over think it.

I bought an Amazon Gift Card for a friend. That's all, so far.

I'm probably gonna be a Scrooge this year. I can just feel it.

No presents anymore. It all goes to Make-a-Wish.

None, I haven't received a list from my wife as yet, to what I can and cannot purchase for her.

The boy has a wicked obsession with Nanoblocks lately.

Got him the space shuttle and statue of liberty. Also, a couple lego sets, robie house and falling waters.

Coach bag for mumsie and a set of 4 sherry/cordial stems made by potomac glass co. in 1904.

I'm behind this year.

Since my family don't do presents, I only have the boyfriend to spoil.
I couldn't decide between C.O.D B.O. II, the Abbey Road collection and a couple of really lovely art books.
So I got them all.
Gave him the C.O.D early so he can game with his mates.

I hate everything about it except the finding that special something and the food.

The rest of the ritual can take a flying leap.

Oh, and, Fuck wrapping!

I despise the commercialisation of it all.
And the wasteful spending on presents.

And don't get me started on wrapping!

Boy, I hate to say it but:

My family celebrates both Dec 25 AND Jan 6, though the Epiphany we exchange sweets and stinky stuff and never wrap.

nope. i've never cast. these are made from found objects.

Good point. i once made a 'friend' some slippers i made out of a couple of road kill cats i found at the roadside. they looked ok, but smelt a bit rank.

Every year, I give gifts from Oxfam.
One year it was goats, another it was sewing machines....

some tight bastard bought me an oxfam goat once. i was delighted.

someone at work was also given shares in a mountain gorilla, sadly it got trapped by poachers and killed. first thing the gift recipient knew was a letter from the charity informing them of the sad loss of the gorilla!

I think it's a great idea.
Why not help out?
Beats spending on presents that most people don't need and likely never use!
