What Burning Man Doesn't Want You to See

The video is about Pershing County (Nevada) Sheriff's Deputies responding to reports of a man sexually assaulting two separate women at the Burning Man Festival.

When the Sheriff's deputies arrive they are actively prevented from interviewing the victims by Burning Man staff who, as one commenter put it "were cosplaying as law enforcement" when in fact they were just Burning Man staff and volunteers.

It is shocking to watch this video and to see purportedly feminist women actively trying to prevent victims of sexual assault from speaking to law enforcement. By doing so these people were protecting the criminal by trying to keep the victims silent.

The almost knee jerk reaction of these Burning Man officials to cover up two incidents of sexual assault reminds me of government managers who lie and deflect when their colleagues or employees commit crimes. All that matters to the them are the 'optics' involved. They don't give one single shit about the victims and instead want the whole episode memory-holed so their department/agency reputation doesn't take a hit in the media.

It sickens me that people behave this way and it shocks me that women would provide cover for a rapist.

Memo: You are not safe attending Burning Man. Not when the people who are supposed to protect you are more interested in keeping you quiet if something bad happens to you.

Funny how three people immediately show up to try to distract anyone from discussing the protection of rapists at Burning Man.

It's a.mass.concert outside where people typically do drugs that are illegal.

What part do you want to discuss? That people engage in behavior that is illegal?

Duh

I think that rape at Burning Man is one of the leading political issues facing America at this time, and we should demand answers from the Trump administration on why it condones such things. 🙄

So women who attend such an event should accept that the occasional rape might happen?

My friends and relatives, none of whom are fat rich guys, are artists that attend burning man travel in large groups, it’s cheaper and safer. I wouldn’t be a lone person there.

When did these rapes happy?
