i could do the book of mormon, which would take a long time.

But i fear no matter how diplomatically that I did it, I would be labeled a mormon bashed or at the least hater :(

At least with the bible and me being a fundamentalist the worst I can be labeled is a bible basher hypocrite, and I defy anyone on the planet to prove themselves not a hypocrite in some way or another, we all are, just in relgion its pointed out a lot more.

That is a cool book, why didn't you continue or begin what the case may be the comic?
Ran out of an artist and the book was kinda inflammatory.

... heaven lost the war … angels scattered and hiding … about Job trying to make his was on earth again. Other stuff too, tip of the iceberg this. Just the first book.

Actually my buddy did finish the first 10 pgs and they looked great but we all got busy ... yadda yadda yadda

Damn, i need to reread Job again I can't remeber there being a war

sounds cool, even if inflammatory I probably would have liked it, heck i like the parody chick tracts better than Jack Chicks' originals, i always did have wierd humor, and I think God does to, at least what I have come to understand him.

what sinced it was when the philistines stole the aArk of the Covenant and he struck them with such a bad case of the hemmoroids they brought it back combined when he got the israelites to let the enemy in, tricked them into taking the jewish circumcision for all adult males and then attacking the enemy on the 7th day after the circumcision when there was nothing they could do being slightly distracted to defend themselves.

Well all that stuff in the last paragraph I could have added to the book.

It's a DC/Marvel convention that the war between heaven and hell didn't end with the fall. That battle was lost but the war continued.

I have to tell you I'm not very religious but the story of Job was perfect for what I wanted. A man who'd suffered and was redeemed only to suffer again.

Perfect character for things to happen to.

Ah, I see he is the perfect character for that centrical character in such a book/comic.

basically you were doing a parodical interpretation of the bible only with the plot reversed

instead of the war being won and the battle continuing, you lost the battle but continued the war, very interesting premise

I like it

That's basically it. It was an interesting premise for a comic book.
We'd made it very dark but of course it would be. Hell won the war.

Maybe I'll see if I can find them.

The first pages were just the set up. Very little dialogue just pics and quotations from the book of Job and famous people that were appropriate for the story to be set up. I'll have to reset most of that.

I'll see what I can do but I can't promise you anything.

The book of Deborah.

i haven't found a good copy of that yet, seems each version I find of Deborah leaves something out or adds something , someitmes as small as a verse some times as much as 5 chapters

sounds good

I tell you the one that creeped me out was an interpretation of the night attack of Moses (It WAS Moses, wasn't it?) -- Anyway, I put the book down without finishing it and had some horrible nightmares over it. *shudders*

Deborah would be cool.

(oh, and I agree with you Todd. God DEFINITELY has a sense of humor!)

I went and pulled the book out to check: The Harlot by the Side of the Road (Forbidden Tales of the Bible) by Jonathan Kirsch. Chapter 8 -- Zipporah and Moses.

It looks like I actually stopped in the middle of Chpt 13 -- God and Gyno-sadism [Heroines and Martyrs in the Book of Judges].
