Back when I lived in Nevada I went to a grand opening of a brothel that was under new ownership. I was a guest, not a customer, and went with a guy in law enforcement. I was surprised that one of the bartenders had worked at one of the casinos where I'd been known to have a beer or two.
No idea who the hookers were. A lot of good looking women there. My buddy was crushed when a hot looking woman at the bar turned out to be an employee.
I like the idea of legal brothels. It's not a pretty life, but it beats working the streets and the danger there.

I know there are some very good arguments about young women be forced into slavery prostitution but I wonder if good government regulations can correct the abuse of minors rather that exacerbate the the problem.

totally in favor and I regularly use an escort service based in London. The Uk does it right. They allow escorts but do not allow street walkers or brothels. I am told escort services are illegal but they do not take an aggressive stance on them.

A good quality agency ensures the girls are of legal age and voluntary. They also validate the clients identity in various ways that gives a measure of safety to the pro which gives a measure of safety to the client.

People ask what about STDs? You have more chance getting a STD from a girl you meet socially then from a Professional escort. A report of an STD would kill her rep and the agency. A pro insists on condoms as should the client. Many will blow a client without a condom because statistically the chances of a STD gotten orally is extremely low.

Your looks is not an issue but good hygiene is paramount. Many escorts insist you take a shower just before sex and if your teeth look like shit or you have bad breath they will likely kick you to the curb.

It has so far in the past. Black market's are notorious for violence and that violence usually stops pretty quick once the prohibition is lifted.

By all means legalize it, if only as a public health issue.

But it also provides taxable income, improves the work status of the women, eliminates sex slavery...in fact, other than the people who want to impose their morals on others, there is no down side to it.

Prostitution exists, in all geographies and cultures. Because people like sex. Duh.

It doesn't work in Nevada. Prostitution is only legal in counties with less than 100,000 people, which means it's illegal in Las Vegas.

People think it's legal, and so you have underage girls & pimps. I think legalizing it will only make these 2 problems worse.

Half of the people who work in these illegal places are approached by council workers, who take money - and especially sexual favours, from the people who work in these illegal places.
