What Are You Thinking? Continued 14

Yeah no fun chopping wood in the rain

Oh, I did the chopping during the summer.. well, I used a chainsaw and a wood splitter, my lower back cannot do the chopping with an ax for very long - and with the amount of trees that needs to be taken care of? Chainsaw it is!

Yes, I am a very cheerful little chainsaw welding demon. 🥰😁

Nothing wrong using the log splitter growing up it was always done with the ax

I need some of that tea too! Get well soon.

You are feeling ill too? ❤️🫖🍵
Eeek, tis' the season of runny noses and sore throats! (And good tea!)

The log splitter is the most important, well.. one of the most important tools here in the forest.
Unless you fancy a broken lower back. 😅

I never had to chop wood, not in these amounts, during my childhood. Now that it is the most important source of heating in the cold months.. It truly baffles me how many trees I burn, luckily I am self-sufficient in trees!

I wish someone would stop by and cut down the live oak in my backyard.

... An oak?! Unless you had a really, really.. really good reason, then I for one would never touch an oak.

Call me a pagan, a heathen.. Whatever, but oaks are not to be cut down.

Other fast growing garbage trees (aspen trees..ugh) yup, I would not even blink twice before taking them down. Just not oaks.

Are X-mass films ones that once went to mass but came home one day and thought ‘fuck it’

🤔 ... Now you made me think! Before I took in the firewood!! 🙈

My throat is a little raspy this morning but nothing too bad. I will drink lots of tea and wrap up warm.

I agree with you on oak trees. They should never be felled. My back garden is full of European beech trees that I am not allowed to cut down as part of the garden is categorized as „forest land“.

Stay warm dear and delegate the wood chopping and gathering please!

It is too close to the house and is shading the solar panels on the roof. It was not well planed and I prefer here in hurricane country not to have one so close to the house anyway. I will of course plant 3 new ones to replace it.

Okay.. Those are all good reasons.
But still.. It is an oak, and should be rather safe - they do not fall over as easily as those fragile fast growing trees.

I would never find any joy in cutting down an oak (no one up here likes to cut them down, that is just how it is).

But.. you cannot trim it?

Good!! A relaxed and tea drinking weekend. ❤️🍵🫖

Yes! The same here in the forest!

I have only felled one oak in my life, and ugh.. it felt wrong, so utterly horrible. But it was very, very young and sadly ill.

Our garden here in the forest is also under the local plan, and is "forest land" the lake is EU protected, and protected by the Danish law Natura2000.. well, I have a ton of frogs, snakes, bats, salamanders, toads, hedgehogs and predator birds.. in the garden! So it makes sense.
Sometimes when a snake get inside, I have to pay a little more attention: is it the normal safe one.. or the poisonous one?

The rest of the family is in the city, this week was supposed to be my relaxing week.. but then I too got ill. 🤧😂
