Yep, I saw this decades ago when they were downsizing realigning bases. Let those closer to retirement retire early, and those who want to jump ship go first. By that time, they won't be looking for others.

I saw something similar to this after we came back from Desert Storm.
They had enlisted a ton of troops just prior to the conflict and wanted a bunch of them gone after we came home. So they offered cash... a lot of takers took it.

There are a lot of people on Govt payroll just clocking time and collecting a check. Sad but true. I work around Feds every day and A LOT of them in DoT just stand around bullshitting all day. I know 4 or 5 from my floor alone who will gladly walk if their pension is unaffected.

I'm still trying to figure out what that compliment means, back or forehanded. Unless she is a rectangle (and books are beautiful), does he mean as in described in books? Is there any description so ubiquitous that that would have a meaning? I am perplexed.
 
... that I need to remember not to fuck-up with my BAF when I next see her. My smart mouth has run at the wrong time a couple of times recently.

Just my circle and household.... But one of my girlfriends.... Says "you're so pretty" to her husband all the time....
And basically it's a dig, a back handed comment to lightly, but lovingly insult him....

As in, he's gonna make beautiful babies, but not that bright one in the box....

Could be worse.. someone ( not on Lit) told me I was pretty in a schoolmarmish way.. not sure how I feel about that .🤔
