What Are You Nosey About Today?? šŸ¦

Hey beauty. ā¤ļø Nope I’ve given up on it. (Like most things in life today.)šŸ˜‚šŸ™„

Sigh, very sorry to hear that.

Last week, I ordered delivery from a pizza place and decided to order a salad in order to be more healthy. They then delivered *the salad only* Definitely a first world problem, but after all of the anticipation it was downright cruel, lol.

Hope you are able to find satisfaction some other way - hang in there gorgeous

 I would be livid!

I was emotionally distraught. Not to mention starving . . . . I did realize at the time that it was ridiculous to have become so dependent on the whims of delivery people to bring joy to my day (and nourishment to my stomach), but I'm afraid that did little to ease my pain in the moment lol

I’m nosey about what you do to lift yourself from a funk day or how you turn a shitty morning around?

Lots of ways.
I get really productive. I go into the kitchen and bake something; I get some work done; I write; I clean; I go for a walk and get some exercise.

Or I get really unproductive. I clear my schedule as much as I can and veg out on the couch with junk food and old movies.

I reach out to friends and talk to them. Bonus points if they're cute and Australian. ;)

Sometimes I just have to wallow and sit there in the shittiness until something changes. That's the worst, but sometimes that's the only way through it.

I usually start writing. Diving into someone I created, and building their back story is always fun. I seldomn finish the stories, but they serve a purpose. If not writing, I work on the 3D printer I've been building, or do something in the garage.

There are a couple of things I do. Dancing is my go to method for lifting myself up. I put the music on loud and just dance it out. Walking is the other thing. I put my headphones in and power walk.

However, I have recently found another couple of ways. I message this Aussie woman and we grumble and complain until we are in fits of laughter. I have also found that making a list of people who are pissing me off helps.

Also, I have found out that orgasms in the bath certainly help a lot

I remind myself funks are self imposed. That means I also have the power to change them. How? I do the next right thing

So, the preceding conversation brings up an interesting point I've got a question around.

Flirting.

There are very generally two types of flirtation. Flirting with intention of signaling sexual interest and flirting without intention, just general flirting to spice up a conversation or encounter.

What's your style? How do you signal the difference? How do you tell the difference?

I tend to flirt alot. Its just for fun, but on occasion it goes further. In all honesty, people tend to think I'm that way in PMs running around flirting up on women, but nothing could be further from the truth. First and foremost I try to make friends.

I signal the difference by not taking it to PMs.

I'm nosey about if you've ever heard of the concept of Universal Basic Income?

But more, whatever you think about the concept of that (or of "government handouts"), I'm curious what you would do if your basic needs were taken care of. If you didn't have to pay rent/mortgage, for enough food to survive, utilities, basic clothing, kids' education, etc. what would you do with your time? You have all the basics but no extras...

Would you still work? Would you still work as much? Would you do a different job that paid less but that made you happier? Would you work consistently or just long enough to afford something fun, then take a large amount of time off?

Who knows? I have not had a real job in years.

Yes, I would still work. I'd probably work as much and probably in the same field because I enjoy what I do. I work. It's a core part of my identity (that and the whole concept of doing the good work). All that will change when I go into early retirement next year is I may relocate to a smaller community as my base of operations and I'll shift the focus of what I work on (less on being a hired gun for the highest bidder and more focus on things that interest me).

I'd probably still have to work, but I think I'd might work somewhere else. I love my field and am still passionate about it after 25 years, but I'm also in a pretty high stress job with a lot of people working for me. There are many days I wouldn't mind a 9 to 5er with minimal responsibilities...maybe.

That's assuming I can't just be a musician. I don't think it's too late for me to learn enough piano to sit in a dim city bar, play sad songs and sip scotch.

I’ve read about many UBI experiments and worked with some folks who sort of came up with the research around the impacts of a UBI - Kenya had an interesting experiment with it (thanks, Obama!). It’s fascinating stuff that’ll never take hold in the US because of those mythological boot straps. I’d still work. But it would have changed my life a ton the last few years while my spouse was in school. It’s not like we live extravagantly - we’ve never taken a family vacation, have a very small, very modest house. Most of our expenses are childcare and food and clothing. If we had a UBI, we could have saved a lot more. Hell, if we had actual childcare in this country, I’d have probably had another child a number of years ago. But spending half our income on childcare is just not a smart decision.

But yes, I’d still work. I don’t know where the UBI money would go because money is fungible, but I’d still work and probably just as much (or as little, Alpine might be thinking!). Maybe we’d have taken a vacation or maybe we’d have an electric car like we want. That’s probably the only ā€˜stuff’ we want. We’d save for kids education and retirement. UBI can change lives, as we saw during the pandemic when there basically was one.

Nosey as to what the average Lit skank thinks is the best song to be finger banged to. My hot neighbor says Livin On A Prayer but that could be the White Claws talkin.

Are you talking finger blasting or finger banging? Could be a total different music genre and that would not blend well.
