He actually just came out of the operating room. Told me to go get the priest. Says his white hospital gown is good enough to pass for a wedding gown.

The worst of it is over. He's stitched up and ready to go home. They're gonna let him sleep the drugs off first though.

Congratulations then! Yeah, you might want to let him sleep off the drugs first, so he can't say he was unaware of what he was getting into. But seriously, I wish you both all the happiness you can get.

I'm really quite done with the amount of time I've spent in a hospital this past year. I'm rather bitter about it at this point.

Some of the videos I've seen have been pretty upsetting. And it's been unsettling to think if he'd run the race a little slower, if I'd lingered a little longer before going to get the car, if he hadn't gone in search of a restroom before meeting up with me...

It was a close call.

All in hindsight, Wicked.

The truth is... everything happened, where both of you are concerned, just as it should have. Still, I know, you can't help but think of what could have been...

And not that it matters...but I call him my old man because we might as well be married, but we're not. We've been together closing in on 4 years now. His daughter is very much my daughter and lives with us full time now. We made a promise to each other that she would come first. He'd made a promise to himself after his marriage to his baby mama ended he wouldn't remarry and he'd always put his little girls needs first.

She's been pushing for us to get married. We discussed it and decided that circumstances and the situation seemed right enough that maybe we should.

After today. We all decided that none of us wanted to wait too much longer. Stuff like this happens and...it makes you do crazy things.

So he's not my hubby now, but he will be in the very near future.

Wicked, we haven't talked yet, but I'm sending all my best your way. And I'm so glad to hear things are turning out for the best.

Hindsight is worth...a lot. We'll be thinking about it for a long time. Mere minutes separated his injuries from everyone else's in this hospital. Its hard not to obsess over. But we all do what we can.

The little one is 16. She'll live. I'm old dammit. I'm gonna be here all night I'd like to not have my back go out on me because of it.

Well the devil is in the details. You are making solid responsible choices, I wish you nothing but the best doll. Just one thing quick though.

He might not be able to dole out retribution for the picture until sometime later on. The last thing you want to do is give him time to stew on something while in recovery from a painful surgery. Time for cold calculation, while grumpy because of a painful surgery recovery; your ass being bright red is going to be the least of your problems doll.
