I'm just going to take it easy at home, and keep it low key, maybe sacrifice a virgin later.

I love any celebration, when is it? :) HAPPY SOLSTICE, Joe.

You can still find a virgin?

Just another day, for me... But a candle will stay lit in the window.

Par-ty!
Par-ty!
Par-ty!

Not - but only because good food, good fellowship and cheap wine will flow this weekend.

I know ;)

Are you a sacrificial virgin? Entitled might like something like that.

Happy Misletoe Days in this month, R.R.

For the past 10 years I have always celebrated Winter Solstice with bestest buddy, quietly in her home. Supper, music, exchange of gifts. This is the first winter solstice in all that time I haven't had to brave very cold weather to get to her home, and spend the ev ening in front of a log fire, in a room lit with candles and decorated with holly, ivy, and bay branches.

Feels very wierd, and unseasonal.......but I know I'm in the right place, and with the right person. ;)

Let the gods find their own virgins.

What I'm going to do for the Winter Solstice is start waiting impatiently for the Spring Solstice.

I'm sick of winter already. :(

i'm still waiting for winter to get here.

It's supposed to be nearly 60 F all week.

Happy Winter Solstice to all who celebrate!
May you have a joyous coming year!

The usual: dress up in the traditional costume of my village, perform folk dances for the tourists while Jergin plays a toe-tapping ditty on the lootschta. It's a difficult instrument, and fascinating to watch. His brother Jorg will work the crowd, pocketing wallets and wristwatches.

{snicker}

I was thinking along the same lines.

This morning I'll be getting the kids ready for school, hubby off to work. Then, I'll log onto Lit for awhile, MAYBE work on one of my many unfinished stories, look for a job, do some laundry, do some dishes, greet the kids home from school, make dinner, greet hubby home from work, serve dinner, watch the news, fold the laundry, put the kids to bed, watch TV with hubby, get ready for bed, fuck hubby, go to sleep.

I got in touch with my inner goddess and asked her to make my inner mortgage payment and renew my overdue inner car tag. No response yet. Maybe you'll have better luck.

The worm is turning; the nights are getting shorter. Or maybe the worm is getting shorter, and the nights are turning. Whatever, something significant is probably happening, because I had that "tubular omelette" dream again last night.
