What are the Truly Classic Movies?

how about Auntie Mame, with Rosalind Russell?

a truly classic, wonderfully funny movie...and she was brilliant

"Acting is standing up naked, and turning around very slowly"

I am going to exert some control, so unlike me:)

Defintion

Clasic move: One that impacts beyond it's own generation and influences others to copy

Therefore I think 'Bladerunner, The Shinning, and It's a Wonderful Life' all fit.

After all, what is 'Groundhog Day' but a reworking of 'It's a Wonderful Life'?

This is the definition:)

The Women
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Amadeus
The Wizard of Oz
Cool Hand Luke
Rebel Without a Cause
Delicatessen
West Side Story
Lolita
Young Frankenstien
All About Eve
Microcosmos
The Lion in Winter
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?
Reservoir Dogs
The Last Emporer
Rear Window

that is an example of my 'holds up time after time - must own' list.
