What are the rules on Fanfics?

I just wrote a story heavily based on a video game, and I feel the line is blurred as to whether it's a fanfic or simply heavily inspired by the game, but I want to post it. So I was wondering if Lit allowed fanfics, or if I should try to make it more different from its inspiration.

I copied a couple of characters' appearances almost exactly, and used the same names. I also largely copied their fighting styles for the brief fight scene (it's not a rape story, I'm not into that, the premise is "sparring session becomes naughty"). The setting and scenario is a generic dojo. I didn't use the game storyline (not like it has much) or make any attempt to keep the characters in character to their original incarnations. I think they're actually hated rivals in the original canon, and not likely to to make out any time soon.

So is this acceptable? Or should I change it to make the characters look a bit different (or at least change their names)?

You run the risk of having the game's copyright owners suing you if you use trademarked character names without their permission. Otherwise, there's nothing in Literotica's rules that expressly prohibits you from submitting your story as a "Non-erotic" story.

Oh, it's not a non-erotic story...

If the story cant stand without the canon identities, leave them as is and post to celebs.

If the identities don't matter to the story, change the names.

Just one lil' question...does this erotica have anything to do with Mario, King Koopa and Princess Toadstool?

Hell. No.
LOL, why?
The idea I had isn't a ridiculous Rule 34-based crack-pairing, it's actually a pretty cute story that you'd probably still enjoy plenty if you didn't know the source game.

Fanfic goes in celebs. I've posted a number of stories there, using copyrighted characters for which I got licenses from the copyright holder. I'm a cautious type who doesn't need lawsuits.
