I've always assumed I have quite a low number, compared to AH members, but it's cumbersome to actually go out and count. I did today, inspired by a thread about most hateful comment (I have no hateful comments). Here are my stats. Could you tell me your highest numbers for a story?

Highest counts
Comments: 5 (numbers show higher on the story side because early on I tended to reply. Didn't realize no one would see them.)
Favorites: 9

Most favourites (and by far the most views and votes) is my only I/T story, Only One Bed, Again! - 118 Faves, 22 comments.

I have a couple stories with more comments: Wheelchair Bound? on 32 and Gas Station Guy on 25, but only 30 and 28 Favourites respectively. (BDSM with lesbians, and gay Asian virgin man mistakes white female customer for a man, queer sex ensues)

About 4 comments on each are from me.

It depends hugely on the category you are in. My one and only foray into mommy in my lap lit crossed triple digits in favorites in its second day. My blue W story from th Nude Day contest is second at 40. I have no doubt which one is a better story. The vast majority of my stories are in the single digits for favorites.

On the comments side, it's all about LW. My lone foray into that war zone garnered me 52 comments for a mediocre story. (My lowest rated story.)

Romance and LS also do well comments wise for me. E&V, my most common category? Not so much.

And it turns out writing for Authors get's comments. My How To Be An Author on Literaotica go 22 comments in less than a week. On only a thousand views.

My story with the highest number of both is the same, Using the Hall Pass, with 68 favorites and 53 comments.

I'm sure the number of views and therefore feedback would be lower if I had used tags. I had never used the feature before that and at least two commenters complained about my failure to do so there. It's in LW. I could also have mentioned this story in the thread about hateful comments, because it's probably the story that got the most, and definitely the one that got them first.

Still, I can't complain. It's not my highest rated in that series, but not my lowest either, and definitely was a learning experience.

My mom-son incest story from 2017, Late Night on the Loveseat with Mom, has 3537 favorites (48 all-time) and 147 comments. The comment number isn't that high given the number of views, which is currently 2,361,357 (123 all-time). That's about 1 comment for every 16,000 views. In contrast, my 2024 humorous story A Story and Its Readers has 33 comments but only 5004 views, which is 1 comment for every 151 views.

Numbers and engagement level vary widely depending upon the kind of story it is and the category in which it's published, so comparisons don't mean much without taking those things into account.

On my Twin Sister’s Wife Wants a Baby chapter 1

The seven chapters of Twin (so far) have all but one of my top faves (Babysitter’s Cam Page ch 1 in 2nd at 112) comments (Win-Win Situation in second with 26) and views (Babysitter Cam Page ch 1 again)

Chapter 8 is at the editor so hopefully it continues the trend

Comments: "Excitement," with 7 comments [NOTE: it might actually be "The Bad Night," but I deleted several of the comments off of that story years ago]
Views: "The Bad Night," with 33,089, almost double the amount of views of my second most-read story and leaps and bounds above most of my works, which tend to average less than 10,000 views per story [pre-2000 stuff really is in a separate category]
Favorites: "Outing," with 13 favorites [also the highest rating of any of my stories, at 4.51]

Like @iwatchus said, this varies a lot with category.

I have seven stories with 21 to 45 comments, all in either T/I or Romance. I have eight stories with 100 to 245 favorites. One is in Romance and the other seven are in T/I. It isn't because I only publish in T/I or Romance. My stories are in a dozen categories (but not LW).

Hmm...

Favorites: 168

It's also my lowest-rated story at 4.58. Go figure. But I take pride in the fact that it's not a story that belongs to a popular category, nor does it have any popular kinks or themes, such as incest, LW, and so on.

My highest counts are all for the same story: Summer by the Sea Pt. 01 in E&V.

Favourites: 34*
Views: 23.7k
Comments: 6 (excluding two replies from me)

Perhaps surprisingly, I have six other stories with higher ratings.

*To keep my reading lists short, I only favourite the first story in a series. Others may do the same.

It's a 750 word story in Loving Wives from the 2024 project, and the first story I ever posted.

It's not my highest rated story (12th), but it dominates these three categories by a large margin. It has more than twice as many views as the number 2 slot, and about 1.5 times the number of comments and favorites. The same story (Not On The List (In 750 Words)) holds the number 2 slot for comments and favorites, plus the number 3 slot in views, along with being 5th in ratings and having a HOT icon. The number 2 story in views (Blindsided (In 750 Words)) holds the number 3 slot in the other two categories and is 8th in ratings.

Actually, all three of those are 750 word Loving Wives stories from the 2024 project.

Only one tale from 10 years ago has more than 100k views (couple others are close) and led my horde with 800 votes, 45 comments and over a hundred favs, until overtaken in votes by a more recent story with (an order of magnitude greater) 1918 votes. None of these would I regard as my best efforts. I will never understand this place.

I've got 70k views, 95 comments and 217 favourites. All on different stories. The views high score is on my 2nd placed (and only) contest entry.

Comments: 6 if you exclude my reply on Milk from Cookies.
Favorites: 8 on It Begins: Beat me to Feel Better
Views: 8k also on It Begins: Beat me to Feel Better

It begins has zero comments, however.

And looking at everyone else's numbers - DANG are mine so very low. I'm still going to be proud of them, though, seeing as when I started writing I expected to get zero comments or favorites at all.

Oddly, my best rated work is my poetry, but with so few ratings, I'm not sure how much I trust those numbers just yet, so I'm going to keep calling Milk from Cookies my best rated work. Guess the folks over in Fetish like their milk.

54 comments, 802 favorites, 390k views. That’s all in T/I, of course, and on the same story.

In a “regular” category, I had 15 comments and 61 favorites in Mature (same story), as well 70k views also in Mature (different story). Both of these were contest entries.

My best non-I/T, non-contest story has 4 comments, 75 favorites and 29k views in Transgender.

31 favorites for April's Fool on just shy of 35k reads, six comments for three of the five parts of What's Left of Me, with 1.3-5k reads.
