What am I doing wrong? Author Profile help needed.

I keep trying to change the avatar, but it won't let me.
The image I'm trying to upload is definitely 75x75, and I've tried it in both jpeg and png format.

However, any time I try to save the changes, it gives me this message;
"Unable to set User Avatar, please try again."

I'm baffled.

makes you feel any better - same problem for me - I had previously "rolled my own" of varying sizes including 75x75 all to no avail.

I even tried deliberately searching for 75x75 icons w/ google just to test if I was doing something wrong - nope , still doesn't work for me either......

I've had difficulties with that since I signed up.....maybe when I die...

This is ridiculous! I've been struggling with this too and created another thread about it last year. It sure would be nice to have some control over your public profile! I've PM'd Manu and got nothing back. Maybe if we can keep this thread going we'll get some attention?

I'm bumping this thread because it is still impossible to update your avatar on the author profile (not to be confused with forum profile).

"Unable to set User Avatar, please try again." is what you will see, regardless of the file type and size. Hell, my current author profile pic didn't even fit the 75x75 requirements, but I have plenty of pics at that size that I have tried to upload, unsuccessfully.

I'd love to know if there is anyone out there who can actually update their author (not forum) profile pic by going to literotica.com/stories, logging in, and clicking on Main - Profile. Thanks!

So I revisited this issue. It turns out that the solution is simple. Completely ignore the 75x75 requirements. Just upload any pic and it will probably get to the next stage, which is "Waiting for moderation."

As for the "waiting for moderation" stage (which I am in now) I'll report back on how many days that takes. I've seen it sit in limbo for months until I just uploaded a different pic and I've also seen pics approved same day. Looking forward to the results!

I haven't heard anything, but maybe they are doing away with the avatar on the story side of the site. The only place it is displayed is on a posted story and in your profile.

I've had one avatar on my story page the whole time I've been on Lit, changed it once but put my phoenix AV back up again. I never resized the huge image, and uploaded it as it was.

Never had a problem.

Worked for you? Most of us were told we needed 100 posts to get an avatar on the this side and we need a story on the story side.

I have one here now and changed it once already. Have a story pending so I will see what happens there. I get confused with two separate sections.

You also can have an avatar on the story side, although it's pretty useless over there. I have one, but haven't changed it in eons.
