Today marks the official beginning of summer vacation.
All the finals have been graded, all the grades are posted, all the end of the term tasks have been completed. I can get out of teacher mode for the summer.

A perfect morning in Southern California. I went for a run early, along the coast. It was simply gorgeous. Now, I have my coffee, some music on, and I don't have to do anything or be any where.
I love the summer!

I'm in such a good mood, just wanted to start a thread for others who might want to post about what's good in their corner of the world today.

So, anything wonderful happening in your world today?

Good for you, enjoyingitall! :)

I have no complaints for my day- thus far.

Not so far, but, I'm a perpetual optimist!:D

A great attitude to be sure, plasticman. Lots of others could learn to be a bit more on the optimistic side. :)

Thanks, raindancer. Hope your day continues to be "complaintless"

enjoyingitall, it must be nice to have the whole summer off! My sister is a school teacher also, when she'd complain about her pay, I'd tell her there were very few jobs where you got every holiday, spring & winter breaks and your summers off. She'd usually quiet down!:D

It's great. And I fully appreciate the perks of my job. True, the pay isn't that great, but..money isn't everything. :)
Having three months of play time..that's my kinda job.

good for you enjoyingit all but i've got a suspician that you enjoy yourself even when school's in session. your average pessimist would'nt choose your title.

i had someone recently ask me where i like to go on vacation and i had to laugh when i answered, "i'm self employed, i live in (a great central texas tourist town). why would i want to go on vacation. if i couldn't be happy where i am doing what i'm doing it ain't gonna happen anywhere.

enjoy your summer!!!

I should have become a teacher, but, being mercenary I opted to become an engineer instead.:D

Thanks, Unclej..yep.. I do pretty much enjoy myself no matter what or when. And I love my job, but the breaks are welcomed!

I know what you mean about going away on vacations. I live in San Diego..so much fun stuff to do here, too.

Meant to ask you unclej, ever been to the Gruen dancehall? Went there many years ago when I was in the Air Force, then had a chance to get back there about two years ago. It's a neat old place.:D

I agree..one of the best.

What is it that you teach?

Yikes..3rd graders!! I'm so very glad there are those who love teaching little ones. I know my limitations, I could never do it. Give me a middle or high school student any day.
