Shit day for me today.

Got up and the skies were gray, bothing new there lately. Stepped out onto the patio to enjoy some coffee and gasped. It was already hot at 0700.

Well I looked at the yard and once again growled. The landscaping company that is supposed to be mowing it hasn't been in our area for at least two weeks, and with all the rain we've been getting the past few days it's getting tall. Give it another couple of days and it will start looking like a Hay Field.

Off to do some shopping, mainly food but a few other things as well.

Hey the suns been out and the grass isn't soaked. Time to dig out my lawn mower and do what I should have done a couple of days ago. I start cutting the grass.

By the time I'm done the lawn looks great, the old Reel Mower has had a workout and I'm dying. I feel a bit faint and my heart is pounding. I crawl inside and grab a seat on the couch with a fan pointed my way. I must have grayed out, i find myself laying on my side with my wife standing over me. We make it into the bathroom and I park my ass in the tub with the cold water blasting down on me. It takes a while before I start feeling better. My wife informs me that she had looked at the thermometer and saw it was 92°F with a humidity level of 98%.

Maybe next time I'll look at the thermometer before deciding to cut the lawn.

Now I'm sitting here feeling a whole lot better and stuffing my face with some deep fried Chicken Wings. Oh these are good. (Cut up a bunch of chicken wings. In a bowl mix a couple of Tablespoons of Garlic Salt and Garlic Powder. Also mix in roughly half a cup of Cholula Seasoning. Press the chicken into this, liberaly coating each piece before placing the wongs in the fridge for a couple of hours. Deep Fry until done and enjoy.)

Hey!

Is that my next door neighbor???

Cat, take care of yourself.

:rose:
Could be. Judging from that grass under her ass, I'd say she forgot to crank the mower. She's all show and no mow.

As Rob said on another thread, great AV (I'm in deep and sincere lust) and I love that bouncy gal.

CAT! Did you really mow the yard during that sort of heat and humidity? Man, that's crazy, not to mention inhuman, unAmerican, and a drag. Next time, try to remember that's what young, healthy wives are for (among other things).

Nah Rumple,

My wife, well she was busy with other chores. Besides I'm not used to making my wife suffer too much. It gets in the way of other things.

Cat, you'd have been fine if you'd worn short shorts, a halter, and high-heeled sandals to mow. See SSSarah's thread for details. ;)

The end of your day sounds pretty yummy, though.

Jammies,

Believe me there is absolutely no way you would get me into Short Shorts, a Halter and High Heeled sandals.

I was disgracefully dressed in Cargo Shorts, Sandals, headband and no shirt. (I'm sure I'll receive a complaint about this from my one neighbor but so what?)

The end of the day was quite tasty, as you can well imagine.

On another note I did find the website for one of my favorite Hot Sauces complete with plenty of recipes. I'll have to try some of them out.

I have had heat exhaustion a few times. They make you wear hot and heavy gear on a fireground, where you work extremely hard. Not pleasant. I learned to watch myself for early symptoms, but with any luck (and judgement!) you won't be needing to be at risk for it very often. Glad it wasn't something really cardiac and serious. Florida needs all the sanity it can get.

Been there played that game.

Sanity? Are you calling me sane?

But what about those bizarre neighbors of yours?

She hasn't intruded in our lives for a bit. I have seen her waddling past a couple of times.

The last I dalt with any of them was right before Ernesto farted it's way through here. Her mother came by t inform me she expected me to take care of her daughter after the storm. She didn't seem happy when I told her the daughter should go to her house and eat her food and not mine. Oh well.

<hugs> Cat. I suffered from heat exhaustion once, after a relay race and most of what I remember is lying in the backseat, on the floorboard, vomiting; and the cool shower with my hair still up in ponytails. I remember thinking, "something's not right …. "

A bad, bad feeling. :rose: Glad you're okay.

Bummer, Cat. Glad you're OK.

Chicken wings. Yum!

The wings turned out great, and I just found a couple more recipes for them that look great.

Doing better now, but for a bit there I didn't feel to cool.

It was more like what I call Heat Sick. Not quite Heat Exhaustion, not quite dehydrated but close on both counts.

Somethings not right is a good way of expressing it.

So how ya doing sweetheart?

Glad to hear you're better. :rose:

It took me a couple of days and my mother wouldn't let me out in the sun for days.

Something is so not right when you're burning from the inside out.

I'm okay. Can't complain. How's Cat and Mrs. Cat? :rose: Hope you are both doing well (at least now that the "heat sickness" is passing).

LOLOL

Yeah it's not fun when you're cooking, and it isn't food that's cooking.

My wife and myself are doing well. We're in our new place and slowly redoing it. It's going to take a while but we knew that when we bought the place.

The roof is done and the we're slowly getting what we need for the ceiling. (We stopped getting those when we realized we ned to get some shutters, that project is almost done though.) Give us a year and this will be the only Mobile Home that is better protected than most new homes down here.

Oh and the Futon is still here.
