When i arrived home from work this evening I was greeted by the "Herd". As I was setting down my bags here was Squeek with her tail held high and bumping against my legs for a scratch. As I make my way towards the bedroom to change here is Smokey on top of the Fridge doing her "Pay some attention to me" dance and singing her praises.

Finally I make it into the bedroom and sit down to take off my shoes only to e greeted by Scrapper. She does her move in close for a scratch then back off routine until I finally catch her. (We were quickly joined by Bubba.)

Half an hour after getting home I'm finally changed and head out towards the living room. My wife, who had been greeted the same way had managed to make it into the living room and had opened the Slider so the cats could go out onto the patio and get some fresh air. I grabbed a cold one and sat down at the computer. After a short while I hear Magi start mewling out on the Patio. My wife gets up and looks before telling me he is playing with one of his toys. Then here he comes into the living room. He trots over to me and sits there for a second looking up at me with his toy in his mouth before hopping up into my lap.

So now I'm sitting here typing with him stretched out across my lap on his back and playing with that damned fuzzy mouse he seems to like so much. Now the funny thing is I have seen him tear holes in Aluminum Screens with a swipe from his paw and yet he has batted that mouse and carried it around for the past two weeks and it looks almost brand new.. He will lay in my lap playing catch with it and purring like mad but he wont destroy it.

I think I would just be grateful that it wasn't a real dead mouse that he had been playing with for two weeks:D!!!!!!!

Gotta love cats!

It's raining here. Harry is sitting on the laptop keyboard(I'm using a plug in keyboard) staring at me like it's my fault. Randall just came in.He's wet and muddy and on my lap  JUliet is asleep on the bed. Pantene is asleep in a basket of clean washing and Billy was last seen in my daughter's caravan licking himself dry on her bed.

Our cat looks at us like the rain is our fault too, and then he bites us.

If I had known about cats earlier ing my life I wouldn't have had kids.

Well, maybe not. Then I wouldn't have the grandkids. Maybe I should have started with them ;):D

We have twelve of them here, and each one has a distinctive personality. Each one has a favorite place to lead a human to for being petted, each one has a social standing amongst the other cats-- that's always fascinating, because there is no hierarchy, each relationship is independent of every other.

At different times, I've had different cats claim my lap at the computer. Once in a while, there will be a battle over it...

We have a social system too - and who is on top depends on the activity.
