Toward the end of the "Fine Wine" contest, I toyed with the idea of entering it, but changed my mind. The idea still interested me, and I made it as far as modeling a wine bottle with label, and a wine glass. I tweaked the scene and played with the lights and finally hit the 'Render' button before taking off to work. It was still going when I got home and went to bed. All told it probably took about 12 hours to render that scene. I'll never know. A thunderstorm blew through here and killed the power. Yours truly broke the Sacred Law and didn't save his work before starting to render it. So now if I want to show off my image, I have to rearrange and re-render everything all over again. What a bummer.

That is a bummer, truly...our loss as well.

However, if you give it a go...I might even complete mine as I had envisioned...and post the second concept too.... just for giggles.

no sense in crying over spilt.....wine, eh?

cummon...we can have a "wine tasting"...of late vintages.

Once I get over being bummed about it, I'll go ahead and re-render it. This particular image isn't erotic though; I couldn't think of a way to include something provocative without it looking cheezy or contrived. It's just an attempt to show off my l337 modeling skillz. Which aren't all that l337. :D

Very nice. I am unable to duplicate the effect of running liquids or I would have pursued something similar. As it is, I'd have to have a couple in the background fucking or something and that just seemed cheezy. I'll give it some thought, but don't hold your breath.

sorry Fu. I hate when stuff like that happens.

hey dg, that's cool.... keep going... :rose:

Shit happens, guys. Hell, for the second contest, Window, all I had was an unfinished piece as well. Stretched myself too frickin' thin with all the damn details. I've never gone back to finish it either. Found some things about it I didn't like.

DG, love the watercolor work. You should do more.

Ok, DG. I've finished my response to your "challenge" and posted it in my 3D Art Lover's Thread. Of the two, though, I gotta say yours looks better.

This could be the only place I post some stuff, I just can't seem to get something that makes me totally happy to enter the challenges.
Most of my work is from stock images, however my intent is to alter them so much that the original is hopefully not recognisable. That's the medium I like to work in even though it does cause some problems, I guess that's part of the reason I'm reluctant to enter, I'm modifying someone elses work and enjoying it, however I don't intend to take credit for something I didn't totally create myself.
The first one was for the wine challenge, I was quite happy with how it turned out, but it just wasn't enough on it's own I thought.
The table was to fit in with the wine one somewhere. *shrug*
The third was for the evil challenge, I was ok with the demon but the woman still resembles the original pic too much.

what a shame you didnt enter the evil challange im sure with the permission from the original's owner it would have been ok?
