...The so-called war on women escalated Thursday onto a new front, after a Democratic strategist and cable-television pundit declared that Ann Romney, the stay-at-home, mother-of-five wife of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, had “never worked a day in her life.”

This time, however, Republicans were on the offensive. And after weeks of hammering Romney and the Republicans on gender-related issues, including contraception coverage and equal pay for women, President Obama’s forces were thrown on defense...

The Dems shouldn't have been dividing the people with wedge issues in the first place. Glad to see them get bit in the butt bigtime. :)

BTW, I'm still waiting for someone to explain how contraception is a "woman issue." Maybe I was absent that day in health class, but I always heard that it takes two to tango so to speak.

They didn't. They came down on Hillary Rosen like a ton of bricks, including Michelle.

Now then, links to all that press supposedly calling Zimmerman white, you serial liar...

The way to get women to vote for the GOP is to have the wife of a millionaire claim to be "one of them," because she stayed at home to raise the kids.

Brilliant strategy.

Am I the only person who occasionally thinks the Republicans don't actually believe a word out of their own mouths they're just praying like hell it turns out to be true?

They didn't. That's like saying "The Republicans" called Sandra Fluke a prostitute.

It's probably because women have babies.

I missed it - did we find out that Ann Romney's nanny, cook and maid made her do all the child rearing, cooking and cleaning?

I hope that's not true.

Wow, you're losing it now, man. Why not go take a break, have a toke and some dinner and calm down. This can't be good for your health.

There was an interesting article the other day about a new Mormon temple that was open to the public for a couple weeks. It allowed a very very rare glimpse into one. Good stuff.
Has nothing to do with anything here except that the woman is a Mormon. I just found it more interesting than this whole story.

Personally, I think Ann Romney should be out there on a daily basis playing victim. Rosen's comment was obviously referencing the Romneys' wealth, not her decision to "stay home with the kids," as if that's not the default for the Mormon wife of a millionaire. Hell, my mother had 5 kids too, but she didn't have the "couple of Cadillacs" or what I'm sure was a sizable household staff. Who are they kidding?

Also: Hilary Rosen isn't a "WH aide," nor is she with the Obama campaign. She's a prominent Obama supporter. Period.

I doubt it. Most registered sex offenders probably do understand the link between contraception and the female reproductive system.

Yes. This.

That was so on-point that I think I should sleep with you. *nods*

That's the weakest "slam" in the history of the spoken word.

The collective GOP scrambling for righteous indignation over it is the clearest sign of desparation yet.
