* * *

the man swam across a stream
the current swept his magic wand away
then lazy nap at the shore
butterflies landing nearby

a small girl watched the man
the magician shielded his eyes
and nodded
now he had to relearn his magic

the girl grew up
it's yours- she said
oh--it's you- he said
he glanced at the wand
and she vanished

he remembers the streams
and butterflies
and the girl
it was always you- he marvels

Fables and tales

My poem is a variation on an old fable (it's different from the original). Perhaps you may add your own legends, fables and fairy tales. Do it, and I will change the title of the thread along the said line.

BTW, it's nice to see the difference between a fairy tale in prose, and a poem. In general, one can see that poetry is hiding in differences between similar pieces, like between translations, etc.
