I've been a waitress, I have horror stories about mean and vindictive customers. So are you a good customer?

Pretty much. Tip good most of the time and everything. Plus, I don't want anyone spitting into my food.

Yes

But I Also Am Kinda Difficult.

The Menu Items Are All Just Sidedishes And, "Do You Have Grenadine?" LOL

I Tipp VERY Well If Helped By A Semi Intelligent Server, But If You Are Stunned It Makes Me Sooo Very Rude:(

I've waited tables and worked retail. (this outta be a requirement)

I'm a very good customer, mostly because I've seen what a bad customer is.

People that mistreat waiters and salespeople are the worst kind of coward.

yes

I love it when waiters and waitresses tell the truth about whether a dish is good or not, and I tip well. It's hard work.

Being a Vegetarian, it's a little more difficult to get a good, meat free meal here in the Southeastern USA. Luci and I always tell our server before we order, but often, they don't know the menu well enough to trust if a dish is made with meat products or not. If you try to second guess them, they get huffy. But they are wrong more often then they are right. We constantly get our salads with bacon bits thrown all over it, even after we tell them we don't eat meat.

I guess, I am a pretty tough diner. But I never complain in a hostile way. I simply explain the situation and expect to have what I asked for. However, I won't hesitate to ask for the manager if I can't get what I need from the server.

Here's a pet peeve of mine. You and your SO are out for a night on the town and dressed to the nines. You sit down to a great dinner and as you get up to leave, you realize the white cloth napkin you have been using during dinner has left a trail of white lint from your well trimmed, black goatee all the way down to the knees of your chic, black outfit.

i'm the perfect customer - i even say please and thanks (my mom taught me well)

HAving been a bartender and a waitress, I am well-aware of how much servers bust their asses to get things done promptly. I make sure I tip well, and am very nice about almost everything...

i hate customers working in shops would be so much easier if there was no customers :p

hundreds of people in the city of Sioux Falls, SD, and surrounding areas are alive right now b/c Target does not allow its cashiers and salespersons to carry weapons, and that's only considering me alone!

i try to tip well, if they've been good. i try to be curtious, if they are, too. and i try not to make their job harder if they help to make my meal more pleasant.

Knowing how it is to work in both Retail and Fast Food, I am extremely patient especially during busy hours. Waiting in line at Mickey D's, during the busiest hours are HELL when people don't show up for work and the manager is struggling to hold the crew together, keep the food moving, and the customers served - and still need to replace the missing no-shows.

When my fellow customers are assholes for no reason, when the employees are obviously busting their asses and doing their jobs, I tend to bitch at the customers. Although I'm not working in the place I know how it is, and it pisses me off.

Busting your ass hardcore to get the job done right and please the customer only to have your head ripped off, your intelligence insulted and your feelings hurt on top of that is very very disheartening. You either develop a thick skin pretty quickly or you need to find a new job.

On the flipside, having worked in both Retail and Fast Food over the past seven years...I KNOW how things are supposed to be run. And when there is no problem other than lazy managers or cashiers or crew who are too busy doing everything other than their jobs I'm the first one to bitch.

I couldn't agree more. Jodessa and I had to put up with some of the snottiest people I've ever encountered, just because they treated us like we were worth less than them. I had customers who have harrassed me to tears, said some of the meanest things, and all that after I was nothing but kind and respectful to them. There was a woman who always came into our deli who would actually take the tip her husband left for us and say "They DO get paid, you know." That infuriated me so much, because it was obvious that the woman had never had to swallow her pride like we did when we took that kind of crap from lousy customers. $5.50 an hour is NOT enough money to put up with crappy human beings.

If you are nice to your server, they will more than likely go out of their way to be nice to you. There were lots of customers that I absolutely loved because they were respectful and kind, and we knew each other on a first-name basis within weeks. I remember a little boy who always came in with his parents and picked out a pretty cookie, and we used to let him come into the back and decorate cookies with us. He and his family were the sweetess people I've ever met. If I ever marry, I'm hiring them to cater my wedding!!!!

i know what you mean angel i work in retail as you can probably tell from my earlier post :) ... its coming upto christmas time and everybody hates christmas shopping right ? well its worse when your working at a store at christmas im going to be working 9 till 9 some nights ouch yes i know theres many people that work longer then that everyday but im a weakling :p im really looking forward to the christmas customers with all thier good will and complaints :p
