For some reason I have really enjoyed reading western stories lately. I just reread In My Life by HardDaysKnight and its still on of my all time favorites and there is almost no sex at all. Does anyone have any recommendations for other really good western stories?

While I am posting I might as well as; I was telling a friend about a Scifi story I read. He asked me for the link and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the story or the author. Worse yet not 100% sure if it was on this site or SOL. Either way, it was about a guy on a space ship. The ship had a crew or 7 or 8 women and three guys. In this time all sex was virtual reality and people that did it physically were outcasts. An asteroid hits the ship and kills two of the guys and knocks out the VR. Is this sounding familiar to anyone? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know of any stories here on Lit, but I'd love to write one someday. Some of my favorite western stories are those Longarm books by Tabor Evans. Schlocky, I know, but what's better than a horny, roving US Marshal? :D

Larry McMurtry writes a good western. The 'Lonesome Dove' series comes to mind. He also co-authored 'Brokeback Mountain' with Diana Ossana.

Montana Summer is also one of my all time favorites. There have been a couple but I hope to find more. Its a fun, action filled genre.

A Little Different Twist-No a Big, Different Twist

If you're looking for a Western with a different twist (and I mean a different twist) try out BarondeSade's Blackmail on the Prairie series. It carries the genre well at the same time it interjects sex into the plot.
