OK, I couldn't help it, that whole Wild West thread got my brain working so I'm working on two stories now. That bad evil Texguy.

Anyway, right now I have a few characters made out, got our heroine, indian whore and bounty hunter, her partner, I'm thinking white guy, sorta John Wayne-ish, have an older guy who is the new town dentist and wanting sex alot, have the mayors wife, who is a prim and proper gal, though I'm thinking either closet lesbian or slut, and the new town pastor, slimy guy who is into guys, I'm thinking he won't get alot of action, though the idea of him wanting to do cleanup for the heroine has struck me.

Ok, after that I am blank, beyond the whorehouse is in the only bar, the town is a small one streeter, there is a group of people trying to allow gambling, and there is a rancher who is trying to take over all of the land.

Now take your time, this won't be seen on literotica this year unless I grow a second brain. I am needing other characters, alot of them really, i want to get the whole town in, so roughly 200 people will appear in the finished product, not all of them will get laid of course, but I would like to get 20-30 more characters to watch or screw.

Sounds more like you are writing a novel than a short story, partner. I think you need to circle the wagons and take it one step at a time before you get over run by Sitting Bull and his Comanche Braves.

Seriously, War and Peace only had 178 characters in it plus a cast of thousands. I'm wondering if "your eyes aren't bigger than your stomach." Typically, a Lit story will have 2 to 5 "round" characters and maybe as many "flat" characters. After that it gets too hard to handle. I'd suggest, since you have only one or two ideas for scenes, maybe you should think about trimming back a bit.

Yeah a good rule of thumb is you can't have more named characters than chapters in a novel (usually around 40). Otherwise you get something like Tom Jones, which confuses english students every year.

It might be a novel, heck it most likely will run as a series, but methinks somebody is over complicating things.

I'm not talking going to do up the day to day lives of every single person in town and whatnot, I'm going to use these people as a sort of side story to the main story, mostly for sexual purposes.

I am so NOT going to do a Tom Jones type novel, I'm not mean. It's going to be a story of a gal and her partner capturing the bad guy, it's going to focus on her and the capturing, rest of it is background noise really.

You could work in a thing where they catch on of the craftier bad guys by having the girl lure him (or maybe him and one or two of his buddies) into her bed and while they're incapacitated, her partner sneaks up on them and catches them, shall we say, without their gunbelts on.

Then of course, once the bad guys have been locked up, since the girl hasn't had a chance to finish, her friend and maybe one or two other folks (male or female) help her along to the end of the trail, so to speak?

Honestly, I'm undecided on the friend. As I said I'm thinking he's going to be John Wayne-ish, and well I admit I'm a big fan of his and I'm thinking they don't sleep together, just do the quiet longing thing until the end like El Dorado.

Though I really do hope I'm not the only one who would like that in there.

though ummm dang Tex, your good at this, gave me an idea, sort of a turn on your idea. One of the bad guys hires her and going upstairs to seal the deal she gives him a sign, he comes up shortly after, sneaks into the room and knocks him upside the head.

After he hauls the unconscious bad guy off her she gets up with nothing on and draws close to him, he grabs her up in his arms looks deep into her eyes and leans forward to kiss her, but gets distracted by a noise outside and goes back to hauling the guy out to the jail.

Of course it will be described tons better when i put it in, I'm just paraphrasing to get thoughts.

Hehe... just had a fun idea... you could always write the story in the tradition of the old Greek stories, where the main characters would continuously ALMOST get laid, but the actual act would always be pre-empted by some circumstance or another until the very end (where in the greek stories, the curtains fell just before the act as well, but in a Lit story, lots of naked interlocking fun to be had).

This doesn't mean that every OTHER character in the story shouldn't get laid, in as many interesting ways as possible. But I would try to keep the sex "in character", so to speak. I doubt the widowed storekeeper is the most likely one to be into anal sex (that would be more along the lines of one of the whores), although the tomboy daughter of the rancher/farmer/something like that might be somewhat adventurous in that regard. The whore(s), while generally more sexually experienced, might not be used to a man who likes to give her some oral pleasure rather than just recieving it.

Also, if you have a farmer's daughter, maybe she could help herself to a freshly picked ear of corn (or two).

I'm going close to that actually. Telling it first person, her point of view so will be tons of sex, whores get it all the time. But she and he won't have sex, he'll be around and there will be longing, but they keep getting interrupted and not actually kiss or anything else until the end, well maybe.

I might continue it on past with just longing and no action into another story, not real sure yet, though I'm thinking more along the lines of end of story celebration sex.
