must be everywhere, they confirmed a case here in the county yesterday, it had been confirmed earlier in Iowa so we give the horse shots to keep him from getting it , and there was a lady from Boston thar was in St Louis last month that came down with it, so i am thinking its going to spread very fast , have any of you had it in your area?

it really does not seem like that big of a deal. what like less than 3% of the cases actually leads to death? 80% of the infected peoples will never know they were exposed? The flu has a better kill rate than this does. I do feel for the victims and their families but its really being blown out of proportion.

And yet, here we are in the grips of another media driven hysteria...

I think you have a better chance of getting leprosy than west nile virus. It is mostly news sensationalism. New Orleans is supposedly having an epidemic, yet no one here seems to know about that epidemic I keep seeing in the news. But then I must be a freak because I have lived in Louisiana six years and have NEVER been bitten by a mosquito. Probably taste like grits.

We have the whole thing going out here in Mass...but luckily with the odd weather the mosquitos are down this year. The first year we had it we were all paranoid...now it has calmed a bit. Just were bug spray.

It's just like any new disease. It's interesting in it's new-ness, makes you think about your own risk and it's sorrowful that there are fatal cases but it's not worth stressing your life over.

I wonder what "off" will come up with for it's next promotional campaign.
