Survey: Indiana University ranked top 'party school'

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana University was crowned the nation's No. 1 "party school" Monday in an annual Princeton Review survey that school leaders and medical experts derided as irresponsible and unscientific.

Following IU in the rankings were Clemson University, the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, Pennsylvania State University and the University of Florida.

Ahh, Alabama higher education. Just like elementary, but with more moonshine.

Oh, I can't believe Michigan State didn't make the list. I guess they haven't been having enough couch bonfires lately.

There must be a mistake. The words "Indiana" and "party" have never before appeared in the same sentence.

Obviously they forgot to visit Madison, WI. Of course they might have thought all the drunks in the gutters were vagrants, not realizing they were faculty and students.

I think they must have made us retire the crown. It just isn't fair to rank professional with amateurs, after all.

That list sucks!

When I was at the University of Miami.......1982-84..... We were the all time party school! I guess a lil ole' thang like probation turned my Alma Mater into a house of woosies.........

What a shame!

Though I am an Indiana boy (though not an IU grad), and I have partied in Bloomington, I gotta agree with you here. There's not a lot of places that can top the Mad City.

Neither was I. I went to school 90 miles east of there. But we always held our friends in Madison in awe. We at Marquette felt humbled by them.

Roooolllllll Tiiiiiiddddeeeee!

:D

That must be the chant that they make as they rush to the porcelin thrown to retch.

(War Eagles!)

Vanderbilt must be up there with Brigham Young. Ahh, those wasted undergraduate years.

We are! Penn State! Number Four!

But I have to admit, I find it hard to believe that PSU could be the home of heartier partiers than, say, Arizona State. Happy Valley may be, uh, happy, but it's also goddam cold much of the year, it gets dark around 3:30 in the afternoon, and it rains more than it does in Seattle. Whearas a school like Arizona State is 90 degrees in winter, the girls wear bikinis year-round, you can swim Christmas Day...it's all much more conducive to hard-core partying.

Well you got the retch and War Beagle together. That's an improvement.

I was at Northeastern U in Boston, MA was ranked top ten by Playboy. Ahh those wonderful times, I just wish that I could remember them.;)

I remember reading that Gainsville, home of the University of Florida had the highest beer consumption per capita in the grand ol US of A back in the early eighties. I'm still hungover.

Florida State was ranked #1 a while back.

I am glad they dropped down some. Now maybe people will start taking me more seriously.

So far as LSU (my father's alma mater), they may never be ranked. The students are way to fried to even vote.

Have we partied together?

Used to drive to State Street whenever I could... never remember leaving either.

I had a friend at UW who promised me he'd show me the State Street experience. We only went to two bars: Red Shed and some place that starts with A that I can't remember.

The Red Shed has a 32 oz. Long Island Iced Tea called "The Real Thing" that's served in a Mason jar. My friend bet I wouldn't be able to finish it. I love Long Islands. I drank it in seven minutes.

Of course, that's probably why I didn't remember the other bar we went to . . . among other reasons . . . ;)
