So I got ambushed by one of these things today. I thought I was in lesbian, opened up a story, heroine walking along the beach, nice little bikini, spies a cave. I think great a little splunking with her lover - very Freudian and then, boom, tentacle monster. Turned out I was in NonHuman the whole time. Didn't even see it coming. Boy was my face red.

So, they're often the punchline of AH jokes, but now they get their very own thread. Questions for discussion.

Could you, would you on the beach?
Could you, would you write a leech?
Could you, would kiss a sucker?
Have you written a tentacle fucker?

You bet. It was a ton of fun to write. Planet of the Tentacons. https://literotica.com/s/planet-of-the-tentacons. I had read a few tentacle sex stories, and their weirdness but enduring popularity intrigued me, so I decided to try one.

I'm not exactly sure what the essence of the appeal is, but I think it's because a tentacle monster hits the sweet spot in combining different fetishes/kinks: the penis/dildo fetish, loss of control/nonconsent, nonhuman, erotic horror, alien sex, science fiction. I published mine in Sci Fi but it easily could have been published in another category.

Related subject: the state of visual tentacle porn. When I researched my story I searched for the best tentacle porn images and videos I could find. Despite the obvious availability of first-rate CGI, I wasn't able to find much if anything that wasn't obviously fake and cheesy. That was one of the things that motivated me in writing the story: filling in what I saw as a gap in the available erotica. The sex scene in my story is one of my longer sex scenes and I walked myself through the visuals of it carefully both before and while I wrote.

As Simon noted, non-animated visual tentacle porn is almost always cheap and horrible.

The idea of being bound, however, and fucked beyond human endurance by a pitiless alien entity can be deeply erotic if done well. It's certainly a recurring theme in my stories, although not always done well.

Siblings in the back seat is my tongue-in-cheek take on backseat incest stories.

Vine is as close as I get to a romantic tentacle monster, unless you count this fun little sonnet: Pearly rivers on my breasts.

The Middener's curse is sci-fi horror, The maze is mostly fantasy adventure with a slice of horror, Taken by the sea serpent is... well, one of the first two stories I wote for Lit. Quest for the goddess cock is generally just disturbing, Nemesis is a 750 worder, Claimed by the futanari plays with vines briefly amongst other things, and The garden and you tries for second-person atmospheric.

Looking at this collection, it's obvious I prefer writing the vines variation on tentacle erotica rather than the more sinister alien/monster variety.

Are there tentacle monster traits generally accepted by all nonhuman authors, or do the monsters vary widely?

I don't claim to have read enough of the stories to be an authority, but from what I've read they tend to fall into one of two kinds: plants or mollusks. Of course, to meet Lit standards it has to be a fantasy alien mollusk to avoid the no-bestiality rule. My tentacle alien was of the mollusk kind (somewhat like a giant, intelligent octopus). But I've read stories that involve plants and vines, also.

The common theme is the idea of tentacles animated by some kind of intelligence being sexually penetrating instruments.

I have not yet written a tentacle pron story, because almost all of my stories are swingers, and there are not many tentacle monsters at house parties (unless you count gangbangs).

But this might work in my Amorous Goods story line as yet another SciFi sequel to my original. If you time the event to coincide with Amorous Goods, I can have the aliens arrive with their tentacles monster and even add a Martian Slut Ray!

In the beginning . . .

Tentacle sex (wrapped in a cool piece of Space Opera):

"Express Delivery", my Geek Pride Day story for 2020. It involves a shape shifter, a human pilot and his alien passenger. It's one of my better sex scenes, maybe because of all the awkwardness involved but also because of the culmination of the main character's growth as a person. I'm very proud of it.

Just be aware that the scene is sitting in the back half of a 104,000-word novel... :)

So far so good. Let's talk plot. Is there only one?

1) Girl* goes to abandoned place
2) Girl meets tentacle monster.
3) "Oh, no, a tentacle monster."
4) "Yeah for tentacle monsters."
5) Shower

(* or boy, but mostly girl)

How do you make your tentacles stand out from the crowd?

And it seems like everyone has at least one great tentacle monster story in them. But what about Tentacle Monster 2: This time its....what? Personal, Gloopier, More Tickelis, a Gang Bang? How do you keep things fresh.

My story added some wrinkles and twists to that approach. It's not an abandoned place but a planet run by tentacle monsters, and the girl is a language professor who is part of a corporate mission to secure favorable trade terms with the tentacle monsters. But she didn't count on one of the terms . . .

Oh, there are a lot of plots. Tentacle monster as torture device. Sentient, romantic tentacle monster. Noncon on tentacle monster ("I'm just an octopus, I don't want this, you perverts!"). Loving Vines ("I knew my wife was carrying on an affair with our rhododendron, and I would have my fiery revenge."). Interracial ("Hot squid on octopus action!"). Fetish (Uh. Tentacles.)

In my stabs at tentacle stories, inspired by the Hokusai woodcut, the woman actively seeks the tentacled lover. Here's the intro paragraph from one; I should probably edit the story and publish it here.

Today the fisherman’s wife quickly finishes her house work and hurries to the shore. Her husband has sailed for the deep sea and will not be soon returned. She stands on the beach, impatient with anticipation for the night, and seems constantly distracted, constantly turning her gaze from the shallows of the bay to the deeper sea beyond. As the daylight slowly fades in gold, rose, and magenta hues, she is naked facing the open ocean, and, despite the lingering warmth of the setting sun, each of the thousands of fine hairs that line her skin from nape to instep stand erect and tense, her flesh goosed by the contractions of the small muscles of their follicles. A full moon appears with the fading of the light, and rises in harmony with the tide, swelling the ocean to its fullness and flooding the bay with the colder water that rises from the deep.

Just remembered there's a scene in Ship's Whore where I have alien sort-of tentacles:
One of the questions Thomas and I had been asking each other was: Just how do you talk to an unknown alien species about sex?

Face to face with the Zharwey, so to speak, my lust fuelled by the mood enhancer, I saw those sinuous forms, so perfectly shaped, and I had to try. Grabbing one lightly as it swam by, I guided it to my pussy, encouraging it to penetrate. It darted away as I released it, but returned swiftly to explore.

Others too, touching me, tasting me. I flinched as one pressed against my clit as it swept between my thighs. I snared another and brought it to my breast, to my nipple, and wondered if the rainbow serpent was able to pinch or bite. I showed with my fingers, even as something discovered my ass and probed the tight ring of muscle curiously.

By not following the trope. My scene is a threesome (m/f/shapeshifter) and both boy and girl get their orifices plugged. Also, the whole thing is quite consensual (and funny at times). It does end with a moment in the showers, but that's a recurring meme in my stories anyway :)
