So I submitted a new story, "Vivid Mist" (incest), as I would normally, never in a hurry, saving the file in *.rtf (rich text format) and then uploading it.

I prefer this method instead of copying and pasting in the story text box since I like how RTF files preserve special formatting well (italics, em-dashes, special characters, etc.).
The story finally posts today but with these humongous gaps between paragraphs. No, folks, I didn't put them there, not even for effect. Some kind readers weren't bothered by it and provided some very nice feedback about the story, but still, this can be frustrating and distracting to other readers that look at this as an intentional gimmick by me.
No, there was nothing wrong with the original file (at least the one on my computer), for when I e-mailed it to several other friends who opened it in Wordpad, they told me it looked fine, with just one carriage return between paragraphs.
Yes, it could possibly have been a faulty upload, but what is interesting is there have been a few other complaints of late, indicating some other strange formatting with the submittal formatting. If there is something quirky going on with submittal formatting, I'd appreciate the good folks at Lit investigating and advising us.
No matter. I've resubmitted the story with an Edit note for Laurel to repost. Hopefully it will look a little more normal the second time around.
Finally, for those of you that have contacted me about it, I just wanted to thank you for your support and bringing it to my attention.
Regards,
Manxy
