Well, that was interresting.

I know what you mean. My wife had to jam her tongue down my throat before I knew she was interested. But it like the saying, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
LOL

I've suspected for a long time now, we men are just passengers on the road of life. We only think we are driving.

Liar - any updates?

Update? :rose: I'm dying to know how this is working. It might change my entire approach to relationships, neh?

Oh, all right.

What can I say? We're not in Kansas anymore, and the yellow brick road aheads of us is lined with intriguing oddities. I guess that makes me Toto, because I'd look silly in red heels.

Um...this requires coffee. I'll be right back :D

Whaat?

I'm serious. It's 2 in the flippin morning over here.

Ok, got java, will continue.

Where was I? Ah yes, in Oz. As I said, strange oddities meet us around every bend in the road. Those kind of details about one another that you don't really thought you'd notice, but you realize are starting to define your life.

She smells of caraway. It's something with the way her family and culture cooks. She makes bread with that odd herb in it, and it sticks to her hair and skin even more than it sticks to the air in the kitchen. So all of a sudden, that warm, dry, liqourice-escue fragrance is something I have come to associate with a state of comfort. Who woulda thunk. And that, I realise, is the biggest sign there is that things are going the right way. Being around her is beginning to feel as liberating and comfortable as being on my own have felt for years.

The difference from this time and other times we have tried to make relationships work is, I think, our attitude to those oddities. It's those things that can rub a relationship raw, flaws and cultural conflicts on a micro level. Instead of ignoring them, we examine them and see if we can accommodate ourselves to every detail of the other.

This is something different from what people normally do. (and now I'm getting academic here - bear with me) When people are in a new situation, the natural reaction is to try to assimilate it - to fit it into your preconcieved notion of how things sould be. It often works, as long as the changes aren't so big or so many that there isn't room or time for them in your mind. We try, activelty, to change our view of how things should be to fit how things are instead. To not accept and try to ignore a difference, but explore it to the fullest and find a perspective where we can rejoice in it.

This is the biggest fucking experiment I've ever conducted on myself, and so far, the result is all positive.

Plus, she has the most ticklish feet in the history of...feet. An endless source of fun. :D

Liar, I think I could love you both. I've got the goofiest smile in the history of smiles on my face; it was the caraway seeds. I might just find faith. Thanks for sharing and GO TO BED!
